I recently stayed at Sea Turtle Vacation Rentals in Hilton Head Island to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday, and unfortunately, our experience was a disaster. Upon arrival, the master bedroom fan was non-functional, and the provided mini fans were insufficient, making sleep uncomfortable. The situation worsened when the air conditioning on the top floors failed entirely, leaving us in unbearable heat. Despite our urgent calls for help, we received no response over the weekend, resulting in the entire group, including two young children, falling ill due to the conditions. The property was also poorly maintained, with stained furniture, marked walls, and a persistent bug problem. Additionally, the listing did not disclose that the property backs up to a trailer park, which detracted from the serene experience we expected. As a local resident, I understand the challenges of a storm, but your team was completely unprepared and lacked communication, adding to our distress. The most frustrating part was the unprofessional behavior we encountered when we finally received a response. Lori, who called back, was rude and denied that we had ever called, despite calling the number we left a voicemail on.This experience highlights a severe failure in communication, emergency preparedness, and professionalism. Given the premium price we paid, we expected much better service. I strongly advise future guests to reconsider booking this property, as our experience was far below acceptable.
