The property was as listed with the space and number of rooms and sleeping spaces. The property had a beautiful landscape, and we opened all of the window treatments for additional lighting and to take in the beauty. The art, furniture, and window treatments in the home were very beautiful. The home was clean and had an "old-timey" smell to it with the old wood. A smell that didn't bother my family and me as we thought the scent was nostalgic. The hot tub didn't get very hot; it was more like bathwater. - but it was still enjoyable. We had a pleasant time and would definitely come back and stay here.

Overall the stay was good. We had issues with multiple leaks in the house, and the water supply was off when we first got there, so we had to contact the host to figure out how to get that turned on.

I have rented about 20 VRBO homes and this will be my first poor rating.The overall main issue is that the host (listed as Alex) never responded to one of my 9 messages on VRBO or texts sent directly to him. To this date, I have not received a response.As we walked in through the garage, the first bedroom/suite was found with an unmade bed that was obviously slept in and bedding not replaced. We then discoverd that nothing in the cinema room worked and you could not watch TV, play a movie,etc.. reached out to help solve problem with no response. The first night the HVAC system broke and it was almost 90 degrees and humid; reached out several times to repair with no response. many people had to sleep downs stairs on the floor as 5 bedrooms are upstairs. there were leaks coming through ceiling and light fixtures (from HVAC system), there was black mold and leaks in the ceiling, many light switches didnt work, and the house in general in poor shape with little to no maintenance. The advertized sport court had only a few broken pieces of equipment and you couldn't play any of the games. We didn't even try the jacuzzi. There are several places in the house that the ceiling is lower than 6' tall that you hit your head on.Honestly, I would have accepted everything if the host would have just responded back to us and tried to repair and address the issues.

Houston Pickleball Hottub Basketball

We had a great stay with 9 people. The house is large and has the old house charm with some very nice renovations. Plenty of room and a great outdoor space. Near downtown and convenient location. The house is large and a bit overwhelming at first. Tyler, the host was very responsive when we had questions. I recommend that one of the first things to do is look at the house guide, my questions would have been answered if I had opened that up first. I noticed that when Tyler sent the link for the House guide via the VRBO inbox, I wasn’t able to open the link from there. You will find a QR code on the fridge for the guide. It works great! Very nice stay and very good host.

Very Inconvenient

The house overall is OK. However, many improvements need to be made before it should be rented again. See below.1. The kitchen floor is rotten.2. The dishwasher has been leaking for years.3. The washers and dryers are all connected to ONE surge protector, and it trips if you turn more than one on at the same time.4. One bedroom is only accessible through the bathroom or one of the other bedrooms.5. The management answered the phone by TEXT only and hours later. But did answer every text.

Would skip next time

There are only 2 bathrooms in the house. The other is in the space above the garage that we were not able to get the code to work. The pictures and furniture are not what is in the house. The towels that are provided are old and stained with bleach. No hair dryer or soaps were provided. Once we checked in some of the group felt uncomfortable in the house and went and checked into a hotel or with local friends. The plugs are not 3 prong in the upstairs bedrooms so you can’t plug in laptop. Overall if it’s a family it might work with the layout. But really needs to buy new towels and some basic things that are just not there.

My group loved this property. The house was as listed, very spacious and plenty of room for the 11 people we had. The host, Tyler, was very responsive and checked in during the stay. The location was perfect. We very much enjoyed and highly recommend.

Great for large groups…

We were looking for a large house to accommodate family and have a place for a small wedding ceremony. The house had plenty of space for everyone and Tyler was prompt with responses to questions leading up to our stay; as well as checking in to see how things were going during our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and a good place for taking a walk in the morning or evening beneath the oak trees lining the street. Our only wish was that there were more towels for drying off after a soak in the hot tub. We had a great time with family and celebrating our special day! The pool room and theater room were great for entertaining everyone, and there is plenty of space throughout the home and outside in the garden area for guests to have space. Thanks Tyler!

Downtown Hideaway

This was a very neat and artistic getaway downtown with some really interesting pieces. The fencing enclosing the property gives it quite a bit of privacy. My family particularly enjoyed the movie room, the pool table and the hot tub.

Great place for a fun night

Everything about this property and host was on point. My friends and I booked this property because of the plenty room it had for an overnight stay and the flexibility to have a fun Christmas party among friends. The entertainment room and patio were our favorite spots. Highly recommend!!

Wow! What a Place!

This property celebrated is 100th birthday during our stay and brought all of the character and history you might expect with such a property. First of all, not many properties can boast “Sleeps 20” but this one definitely does! While we didn’t have nearly that many in our party, we checked it out and the beds were there. While there were only two bathrooms, they were oversized and family or friendly friends could be in the same bathroom without crowding. Unfortunately, we had to do a little work during part of our stay, and we were able to spread out and set up our laptops without interfering with each other. Unique and different art -from quite old to contemporary-was in each room. While close to downtown, the inside of the house was quiet and we slept like angels each night! It’s a terrific place for entertaining, with a pool table room, cozy nooks, and an outside oasis that can’t be beat. The outside had multiple seating areas, a cornhole game and beautiful vegetation! Plus an oversized lighted hot tub to relax in at the end of the day! If you are coming to Houston during Covid, you can certainly socially distance here. We are looking forward to coming back as soon as we can!

Mothers birthday

my family enjoyed this home the ambiance is beautiful with antique decor and we had plenty of space for all of our guest to be comfortable, Tyler was an outstanding host very pleasant and was accommodating to our needs he was very responsive to all our calls or text . The home is near downtown in a small rural neighborhood very quiet that home has been well kept with a lot of character. We will book again In the future

AMAZING STAY... Exotic place! my guests LOVED it!

This was my 2nd time booking this fantastic property! I hosted my 2nd annual chairty auction here with over 50 guests and 18 people stayed the night. Lots of parking for my guests. Street is very private and safe. The neighborhood is upscale and very nice. Property is perfect for entertaining. Very open and spacious with tons of room for mingling. 14 mattresses (3 airbeds) made sleeping a dream. The Casper mattresses were so nice to sleep on! Most other homeaway beds I've slept on leave you sore the next day and are very hard to fall asleep on the cheap mattresses. There were lots of fun ammenities to entertain my guests from the pool table, ping pong table, cornhole, bar games, board games, lots of cooking equipment, HUGE hottub, and beautiful movie projector to make us feel like we were at the movies. The value for the cost was very good and these are some memories we will have to last a life time. Would recommend to anyone wanting to host an event or party just outside of downtown houston 3 minutes from minute maid stadium.
