I got a call the night before our stay that our original VRBO had flooded, so VRBO helped us find a new unit and this was it. I typically do a lot of investigating before picking the place, so this was a new experience. Here would be the reasons to choose this unit: 1) Proximity to the beach. 2) Walking distance to restaurants and shops. 3) Large unit with large bedrooms. 4) Two-car garage at the beach! 5) No ants or any other critters, which is not always the case at the beach. Here would be the reasons we would not have chosen it: 1) There is a LOT of room upstairs with the bedrooms, and 8 people could stay there comfortably. However, it's the opposite downstairs. The two rooms are very disconnected and neither can comfortably fit 8, closer to 4 would be more accurate. And the kitchen was tiny compared to the square footage. 2) The unit shows its age and needs some TLC. 3) The garage door opener was a nightmare. I actually went out and bought a new battery, thinking that would solve the problem, but it didn't. Most of the time, I had to get out of the car, walk back up to the front door, go in that way, and then walk back to the garage to open it for the car. 4) PCH is so loud! We like to have the windows open at night, but with that street noise, it wasn't worth it.Overall, I would say it was a fine place to stay for those who need a lot of space and want to walk to the beach.
