Check in was incredibly confusing. The codes that were sent via message did not work since there are 3 doors. After trying for 30 min, we had to seek more clarification because doors inside were locked.
The master bedroom had an insane number of bugs. We had to build an apparatus to stop the bugs from coming in and then spent an hour vacuuming the bugs. When I reached out to the host, they asked for pictures, which we were unable to send in the app. The mosquito and bug situation alone would detour me from staying here.
The air conditioning unit on the top floor was inoperable. It got so cold cause it was set to 64, the only way I could control temp was by unplugging and replugging the whole unit every few hours.
Finally, the communication with the host ahead of check in was the worst I’ve ever experienced. After calling vrbo support 6 times, the host never responded to their outreaches. The amount of time I wasted was outrageous. I asked to modify my dates, which the host said I couldn’t because I requested too late. However, I had confirmed with multiple vrbo agents that I could. This host does not honor the vrbo policy and has his own policy.
