The beaches on the central to south island are superb. You can see the sun rise from driftwood and watch a sunset on the southern most beach. The beaches are wide and undeveloped and quiet. Unfortunately just north of driftwood beach (which is a ghost forest not really driftwood) and for about 2 miles southward there is no beach. There are huge...
