We arrived 30 minutes after expected arrival at 4:00 pm. Room had not been cleaned. It was filthy. I tried calling the property manager and with no response after two times, called VRBO to register a complaint. The manager finally called me, telling me not to discuss anything with VRBO. She offered to return the cleaning fee as her “apology” for our inconvenience. I told her that I had left voice mail messages on her phone. She denied receiving them. I was given the option to take the reduction in cleaning fee or leave and she’d refund my payment. We traveled by car from out of town and had no place to go. She was unsympathetic with a “take it or leave it” attitude. Finally, she found someone to come clean the unit while we went to dinner. It was the “maintenance” man! He did his best, but the unit still had several issues. We made the most of our weekend, but customer service was definitely lacking. I have before pictures (when we arrived), after the maintenance man cleaned (at check in) and post our stay ( when we left the unit as clean as possible). Oh! The manager finally called the night of our arrival and finally admitted that she was “out of the country”. How can a manager help if they are not here?
