Great Location
The property was great, just as described. Location was perfect for Tubing at Zaloo’s. Had a couple great evenings by the fire. Only negative was the cleaners missed some items in the basement while cleaning.

Beautiful location
Really beautiful location. House was ok. Sleeps 10 but only had bathroom linens for 6, which was inconvenient. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful spot on the river
Overall very nice vacation spot. A little smaller than I anticipated, but we still had plenty of room with our family of 7. The deck & patio are beautiful right near the River.

Great Place to stay and fish on the New River
House was older and had an old smell to it. For use on the River it was perfect as we were not in the house for long periods of time. Location was great. Great wade fishing opportunity up and down the river in knee/waist high water. Caught 15 fish in 2 hours the afternoon we arrived.

Great River Access
Came to town for a wedding in Purlear and spent the week over Memorial Day. House was nice with plenty of space and great access to river. It had rained is 2 days and did still enjoy the hot tub. A "pop-up" campground for Memorial Day Weekend appeared next door and while it wasnt loud or anything just a nuisance of about 7 campsites. Beds slept good and was able to sleep well and others had same to say. Just up the road from Zaloo's kayak and tubing so there was traffic on road out front. Road busy during day but quieted down at night time. Easy drive to Jefferson and W Jefferson for groceries and went to Boone for a dinner. All in all a good experience and my dog loved the river as did I and family. I will be back and recommend it to other.

Charming cabin with great access to the New River.
Our family enjoyed our stay at the River's Edge. We all liked the convenience of putting the canoes in the river. The only negative is that to access the bunk bedroom, you must go thru the basement bedroom. A very beautiful part of our country.

Disappointed
First we were surprised at how close to a busy road this is. The road was under construction and we could hear traffic and trucks all night long. The back yard and deck areas are large and the location to the river is excellent! Relatively easy access to get into the water from the back yard, which was nice. The house needs a really good deep cleaning. There was dirt in every corner, especially in the game room where the ping pong table is. The kitchen is well equipped, however, there were MOUSE DROPPINGS in the kitchen cabinet and IN the pots…GROSS!! The downstairs area REEKED of mold and mildew. The filter behind the couch looked like it had not been changed in a very long time. We went, on our own, to purchase mold and mildew remover, new filters and candles. We went to get a blanket out of the closet in the bunk room and it smelled like something had died! We closed off the room for the remainder of the stay, luckily we did not need those beds. FYI, that room is VERY small and my 15 year old said it was creepy. Overall we enjoyed our stay due to the outside space and the proximity to the river. I left all of this information on the feedback sheet provided but I did not receive any contact in reference to our experience and concerns.

The back deck an back yard to the river was wonderful. The more negative aspects is the parking and busy road in front of the house. The basement area smelled mildewey and there were a lot of spiders and spiderweb. The house needs a "lot of love." In spite of everything we enjoyed the area and hiked, swam and fished. The management company was wonderful and responsive to deal with.

Rest and relaxation on the New River
Our family had a fantastic stay in this property. The location was perfect for our kids to play in the river. Close to the small bustling town of West Jefferson where you can get a bite to eat, shop and play at the local park. Definitely recommend for outdoor enthusiasts, families with children or people who want to get out of the city and get some fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery.

Ok but needs improvements
Only 2 wash rags available for 6 adults. Tons of dead bugs in light fixtures especially master closets. Kitchen and doors need updating. I slipped on mat in tub, huge goose egg on leg and severe back and ankle pain after. Needs strips vs mat. Very musty smell downstairs. Fireplace, back yard & hot tun were great.

Exactly what we needed

Over all enjoyed our much needed get-away
The house sits on a very busy thoroughfare with high speed traffic just steps from the front door; there is a strong musty smell throughout the house but especially on the lower level and there isn’t as much privacy as we would have preferred. That being said, the house is quant, the kitchen is fairly well stocked and we loved the view from the back of the house. There is more than enough to keep you occupied rec room well stocked and it’s a place that can easily fit a decent size family. There is also a garage which was an extremely nice bonus. A special thank you to the management company for being well above average in customer care!!!

Rivers Edge Vacation
Property was dirty, old, and not maintained. We had to clean the kitchen and bathrooms prior to use. Downstairs toilet rocked and beds are very uncomfortable (bring air mattresses), sleeper sofa broken. Not enough towels, bunk room only good for small children, not teenagers. Listing should state it only accommodates 6 people max. Not used to having to wash the sheets/towels prior to leaving. There is no water pressure, cannot flush toilet and wash dishes at same time. No easy access to river, not pleased with this experience at all! Only plus was nice deck.

Family getaway
Overall the property was very nice. The location on the river is great and access to the river is very easy. It is an older home and after a lot of rain the basement can get a musty smell. Other then that the house is very spacious and the river front is beautiful.

Great part of the river
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The road in the front of the house was very busy, but we knew that before we rented. The house is old but again we knew that before we rented. The back deck and backyard were perfect. One day we started at the house and floated down the river and another day we started up the river and floated down to the house. There were great spots in both directions not far to leave a car. We would stay here again.

Me and my husband brought our three kids, our chocolate lab and both grandmothers!!! We had a blast the house was amazing had everything we needed to cook! River was great!! I was very pleased and would definitely rent again!!! Oh and more than enough entertainment for the kids!!!

A little disappointed
SO, There had been a leak under the kitchen sink, the smell was terrible. The drains were very slow. The game room in the basement flooded and remained with standing water the next day. Mold on the walls in the basement. We had to clean the filters in the hot tub in order for it to run. But we made the best of it, guess we were tired of being quarantined.

Scenic views
This property was super comfy and was able to accommodate my family, the river access is the highlight of this property! Breathtaking views, clean river water, and wonderful family memories. The deck is gorgeous and makes a perfect place for stargazing at night! The hammock was used for late night talks and the hot tub was perfect for a 60 degree night get together. The only recommendation i would have for this property is maybe investing in some plug ins or candles, it has an old odor to it but was not a deal breaker as we plan to stay again at this property in the very near future! Highly recommend this property!

Great River location but . . .
House is right on the road. Pics made it look like it was secluded. River location was awesome and kids had a blast. Beds are really old. A few holes in the walls and slid a lamp over 6 inches and it fell apart. House was priced at $300 a night but ended up over $500 a night after all the fees. Overall, was a great trip
