“We loved our stay at this beautiful, spacious home. We hiked in Volcano National Park all day and came back to a quiet place to stay with a lovely hot tub...perfect for our sore muscles. The location is super close to the park and nearby to the delicious dinner we enjoyed at Kilauea Lodge.”

“We had a fantastic stay at the Rainforest Cottage. The property was extremely clean and very private. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and there was a large supply of items for use on day excursions (coolers, snorkeling gear, etc). The location was convenient to explore Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area. Thank you Matt for sharing your slice of paradise with us!”

“We had a tournament in Hilo so we decided to stay at another location close to Hilo since we’ve recently stayed in Hilo. The location was great! 2-3 minute mile ride to wonderful beach views. The house was big and spacious! Every room had its own private full bath and balcony! The amenities were great, from the game room to the snorkel gear to the bikes provided! There was a Sunday market no more than 8 minutes away that was great! All in all if I come back to the big island I’m staying here...

“From the first day we booked to the day that we left, we received almost immediate responses to every question we asked. As usual, there were a couple of arrival difficulties, but the host quickly took care of those. The house is beautiful. We were able to walk to the point and watch the waves and even some whales. They also made great suggestions about restaurants and supermarkets in the area.”

“Beautiful spot, house is large, nicely furnished and decorated with a well stocked kitchen and other amenities. In a residential neighborhood, very friendly atmosphere and pleasant area to walk around. Pahoa is a quiet town, has a nice new grocery market and a few fun places to go out to eat or drink. We saw tons of whales go by from the lanai and enjoyed short day trips to Hilo and Volcano.”

“Great place to stay - just as advertised. While not fancy or luxurious, it is very nice, comfortable and clean and in a spectacular location. Having morning coffee on lanai overlooking the ocean cannot be beat. Probably the best stocked kitchen in rental that we have ever had. Saul is an attentive (in a very good way) host. He provides great welcoming touches, including a bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers.”

“Lovely area, laundry a bonus, air cooling units a plus, fire detector battery needs changed, a few more towels would be nice, and an extra baking sheet also. A bit dusty and locks could use a spray of silicone regularly. Overall a nice place to stay.”

“This is our second year renting out this house. It was a perfect fit the first year so we wanted to come back again this year. The house is spacious with the upstairs and downstairs rooms, bathrooms. The garage was big enough to fit two vehicles which was perfect for the rainy days. The house is fully stocked with all the amenities. We would stay here again if needed and would highly recommend families to do so too. This was truly our home away from home. Mahalo!”

“A perfect haven for being immersed in the quiet beauty of a rain forest with welcoming amenities within to ensure a comfortable stay. Loved the large deck with seating to enjoy the birds and gentle rain. Loved the fireplace opening to both the living and bedroom. Loved the large jacuzzi tub for soaking away the travails of a day at the beach or hiking. Loved the well equipped kitchen. Loved all the windows that brought the outside in. And loved the separate quarters downstairs. What a charming...

No, this house is filled with a spirit of its own where you can feel the life of all those that have passed through these doors. If the walls could speak it would tell you the stories of some great writer who sat where you are now staring out to the stream below. If there was one word to describe this house...

“The place was great, location beautiful surrounded by lush growth and farm animals - we did have a time finding it!! Arrived late on a dark and stormy night …..😕 otherwise very comfortable and homey.”
