Paradise

Multiple issues with this unit

First day there we were unable to open the lanai door. Coral Tree (managers) sent someone over quickly to help. The door is actually in really bad shape and the fix is only temporary. Had to leave the door adjar & unlocked. Someone actually shut the door too hard and we were locked out. Someone had their phone with code so my husband walked all the way around outside to come in the main entry. Then at 5 AM the next morning an alarm was going off...The air conditioner was leaking water. Coral Tree sent someone who dried the tray. Next day, more water. Sent a vendor to repair it. Dry for one day. Next day even more water. Apparently needs major work done. There were also tiny bugs, identified by the Coral Tree repair person as ants. In the kitchen, every day, all day long. Another day,we came home to find water and black debris on the outdoor cushions. There is a hole in the area above the furniture that allowed the unit above to shove their extra dirty waster down to our level. Coral Tree sent a young man to clean up the mess. He worked very diligently to do so and did a great job. Finally we met Roxanne, the Coral Tree site manager and she was awesome...and upset by all the negative things that happened to us in this unit. Unless the owner of E105 repairs things, I would not recommend this unit to anyone except for the beautiful view of the beach and the ocean. If you want to stay at Makena Surf, book your unit through Coral Tree!

Dream come True

Loved this condo! Wanted to stay at Makena surf for years and finally got there! A sweeping ocean view that feels like the water is coming up to your deck. Comfortable patio furniture and a great grill. Amazing beach with wave hopping and snorkeling. Upgraded kitchen, master bedroom and master bath.

Best vacation ever!

This was one of the best vacations we've ever had. The condo was clean, well stocked, quiet and right on the beach. Can't wait to book it again, hopefully next year.

Love this property!

We love this unit! The location is perfect and its close to shops, restaurants, and activities! The beds are comfortable and we especially appreciate the ample supply of soaps in the showers. It saves on us needing to bring so many toiletries. The kitchen is fully stocked and the unit is very comfortable. We love the pool. Its crystal clean and so nice. The only issue is that the screen door needs a new track and new wheels. It was very difficult to open and shut during our week's stay. Other than that, we love Makena Surf!

Makena Surf is our favorite condo resort on Maui. E-105 is a nice ground-floor location that is steps away from the beach. The condo is spacious with a good floor plan.

The welcome was amazing!

We felt so welcomed as we checked in, and the staff was incredible. Charlotte helped us make some reservations for incredible sushi, and the team made everything easy. The cleanliness 3 star rating was for a slightly moldy or other smell coming from the place and primary bedroom, but the fans helped. There were also tiny ants on the counters, and the management team sent people immediately to fix it, including sending extra towels and linens for our stay. The responsiveness of the team was spectacular - we were really pleased with the superior level of customer service. I hesitate to say anything else positive, because the rates have gone up significantly from when we reserved the unit, and we'd like to stay there again, but the current rates just aren't worth it.

Very nice property, family friendly. Great snorkeling!

The property was in a perfect location on Makena Beach. Snorkeling was fantastic just outside the door. Boats came from other areas of the island. We liked being away from all the big hotels -- place was quiet and very family friendly. Property, pool and hottub all were great. We saw many families with young kids, but the property was quiet. The condo itself was large and comfortable. Only issue was mold smell from the vents (thus not a five star for cleanliness, otherwise would have given five stars), perhaps from the previous flooding (we experienced no flooding). Management was responsive to our questions and concerns and arranged for a vent cleaning.

Beautiful/convenient but flooded

Beautiful view and proximity to the beach (and pool). Very convenient for families. Great lanai, bbq, kitchen, and general condo layout. Our unit flooded after a short rain, and one of the repair people mentioned it had happened many times before. Mgmt moved us and offered some compensation, but I have not received it (yet). Check-in is located at an office, 5 min drive away. You may not notice beforehand unless you are familiar with the property’s address.
