Heaven in Maui

Our stay was perfect! The views are spectacular; the garden is so restful and beautiful; and the place is spacious and airy. Our hosts couldn’t have been nicer and welcomed us with a beautiful basket of goodies. It was my birthday and they made me feel really special. And you have all the beach equipment you could ever need. We willl definitely be back!

Incredible view and a perfect location

April & Bob are wonderful hosts. They really take care. Everything is so well maintained. Beautiful tropical landscape around the house. Huge Lanai with an incredible view. Quiet residential area, yet very close to fantastic beaches. We liked the area of Weilea very much, because it was not so crowded (in August). We will come back :-)

Favorite VRBO I have stayed in!

This place is even better than it looks online. Everything you need is there. There’s lots of little touches all around. The lanai is where we spent a lot of time and it was just beautiful. We could watch the sunset every night from there. The house was immaculate. April and Bob are wonderful hosts. The neighborhood is really nice and convenient to everything. If I ever go back to Maui. I will definitely stay there again.

Incredible home with a view

Best VRBO I’ve stayed at - truly one of a kind. The lanai and view are unbeatable. The palms and birds make you feel like you’re in the jungle. We spent many mornings and sunsets taking in the view - it’s a magical experience. The house is well decorated and has everything you need to cook or enjoy the beach (chairs, umbrella, boogie board, coolers). Fast internet if you need to work. We loved the location and wish we could have stayed for longer. April and Bob are wonderful hosts. They thought of everything and put great care into their home.

Fantastic gem with a great view

April and Bob have a real gem with a stunning view. Excellent location, and the interior has a stylish design and very well equipped. We had a perfect stay with a score of 9.9/10. April and Bob are very nice and helpful hosts. We would not hesitate to come back again.How to get the last 0.1 score point?We would really have appreciated a (N)espresso coffee machine in the apartment, or even a juicer. One thing that was particular - but no worry - was the fact that there is no stovetop inside the flat. So one has to use the electric grill outside to cook food. And some additional light by the grill would be perfect.

What a gem in paradise.

What a fantastic property, wow. Everything on this property is built/done with great love to the details and it is more than true to form with the pictures and the description. A bonus is the wonderful landscaping around the property into which Bob & April are investing a lot of energy and effort, almost on a daily basis. And have we talked about the view yet? We've spent 5 weeks here and the view incl. the golden sunset never got old, just breathtaking. Wailea is a top destination with the most beautiful beaches on the island. We saw sea turtles almost every day, again wow. And Bob & April, you could not ask for better hosts. They work hard in order to make your experience "vacation only", and another wow here, many thanks. Whenever we had an issue or just a question they were right there. We would stay anytime again in this beautiful location in paradise. Nicole & Serge

A foursome of seniors' experience

Anticipating that reality might fall short of the description that had drawn us in, we were shocked upon arrival. Our expectations were far exceeded. The setting is spectacular! Perched at treetop level beyond the noise and traffic of the beachfront, OceanBlueOhana is high enough to be overwhelmed by the far off vistas of mountain, island and ocean, but close enough access Wailea conveniences. Morning coffee on the deck. Cool, gentle breeze, and the chatter of birds in the neighborhood. While the Spotted Doves are everywhere, we also identified Northern Cardinal, Gray Francolin, House Finch and the Common Myna. A pair of colorful Java Sparrows visited us every day. Outdoor dining becomes an event, and the sunset is breathtaking! April and Bob have created a magical retreat in a tropical paradise. Living on the floor above, they are friendly, accessible hosts. We hope to return next year.

Exceeded expectations

The perfect Maui location and property for our stay! We were traveling with 2 adults and one 7 year old, with the plan to explore the island a bit with some beach time mixed in. Ocean Blue Ohana was perfect. Easy to get around, everything we needed for our down time, and clean enough to walk around barefoot. If you’ve ever stayed near a beach and constantly felt dirty you know what I mean. Many beaches were within a quick drive, and access to other parts of the island was great. The view is nothing short of amazing. Everything we needed was at the house, making it easy to make the trip from the Midwest without a ton of luggage. When they say pack light, they aren’t kidding! Coolers, beach gear, chairs, everything you need is right there. April and Bob made it so easy to get settled. We highly recommend ping pong and checking out the garden, also fantastic parts of the property! Last note - we spent a night at a lovely resort in Wailea the night before checking into the Ohana, and while it was beautiful, we’d choose the Ohana for location, ease of getting in/out of a car to explore, space to relax…everything. We didn’t miss having a pool enough to think of it, and the 7 year old having his own space was priceless.

We had an excellent stay! The home was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly suited for two couples traveling together — plenty of space and privacy, yet great shared areas for relaxing and dining. The west-facing lanai was our favorite spot — the view was absolutely spectacular and the perfect place to watch Maui’s gorgeous sunsets. The location made it easy to explore beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and made everything effortless. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
Every night had amazing sunsets like this one taken from our lanai.

Comfortable House with Gorgeous View

We loved our stay at the Ocean Blue Ohana. The house had everything we needed for a fantastic trip to Maui. The view is from the lanai and every room inside is gorgeous. We spent a lot of time on the lanai just soaking in the view and the atmosphere. The location was perfect for us since we like to travel around Maui to different places and beaches every day. The house had everything we needed - comfortable beds, plenty of beach/regular towels, robes/slippers, nice living room, fully stocked kitchen and even beach gear. Could not have asked for better hosts - stayed in constant communication from the start to the end. We didn't have any issues during our stay but we know that Bob & April would have been right there if we needed them since they also live onsite. One thing that folks need to be aware of is that the house does not have a full sized stove or a dishwasher. That wasn't a problem for us - we don't do a tremendous amount of cooking and there were enough cooking appliances provided to satisfy all of our needs (griddles, grill, etc.) but it might be more challenging if you are expecting to do a lot of full meal preparations. Thanks again Bob & April for a fabulous stay - can't wait to come back.

Magical Maui

Ocean Blue Ohana and hosts Bob and April made our trip to Maui a memorable one. The accommodations are five-star with the comfort and easy-living one wants to enjoy while relaxing in Maui. We especially enjoyed the expansive lanai and panoramic view--in the morning while having coffee and later in the day sipping drinks and watching the magnificent sunsets. The home was immaculately clean with top notch furnishings, appliances and finishes. The neighborhood was quiet and only minutes from Wailea's beautiful beaches, shopping and resorts. We highly recommend this home for those who want a relaxing, low key, Aloha-spirit stay and will recommend it to our close friends.

Fabulous vacation

We absolutely loved staying Ocean Blue Ohana. Bob and April are excellent hosts and the property was over the top beautiful and very well maintained. The neighborhood is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle yet, in close proximity to the Shops at Wailea, restaurants, golf and beaches. The VRBO listing pictures are exactly what you will experience. We will definitely be returning.

Best place in Maui

Bob & April nailed it. Well appointed and a stunning view. We were never left wanting. They have all the quality beach gear and kitchen amenities you could ever need. The gardens are also beautiful, hosting all kinds of birds. Bob and April were excellent hosts always ready with a warm smile and happy to answer any questions. We will definitely be recommending the Ocean Blue Ohana to anyone venturing to Maui. 6 stars.

AMAZING EVERYTHING: Home, Location, View!!

What am absolutely wonderful stay we had! We've been to the island every other year for the past 12 years and this home tops them all! The property was immaculately clean. The layout of the home was perfect with large bedrooms on different sides of the house, a very comfy L-shaped couch in the living room, and fully stocked kitchen with everything that you might need (down to saran wrap and plastic baggies). The balcony was huge with a massive amount of outdoor space to lounge in the sun, which we did each evening and watched that grogeous sunset. The washer and dryer worked fabulously and allowed us to pack simply! April and Bob provided so many personal touches to make our stay unbelievable from the start! It all begin with the beautiful welcome basket of Hawaiian goodies (fruit, baked goods, candies, and a card!), to the cold drinks in the fridge, the face masks for relaxing and so much more. Every room was decorated tastefully from wall art to throws and coverings. Our stay was so wonderful that we can honestly say that we felt at home each time we walked through the door! We certainly would recommend this home to our friends and family and to anyone visiting the beautiful island of Maui.

Beautiful Home!

Wow- what an amazing time we had at the Ocean Blue Ohana! Bob & April thought of everything to make our stay in Kihei as comfortable as possible. They were very friendly and extremely accommodating. The location was perfect. Close to so many great beaches, restaurants, and the lanai was amazing for watching sunsets over the ocean. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our time in Kihei and we will definitely be back to stay at the Ocean Blue Ohana!

Aloha! We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to stay at the Ocean Blue Ohana. The property was so clean and well appointed, from the furnishings to the beach gear. They thought of every detail. We were blown away by the beautiful panoramic views from the wrap around lanai. There is no better location to enjoy all the local hot spots, but also feel like you have a home base that far exceeds any area resort. We loved our time and can't wait to plan our next visit! Great place, Great view, very well-equipped

You'd never know that this property is new to VRBO as our experience was perfect. The property looks exactly like it does in the photos, with the lanai being the star of the show with that incredible sunset view. We loved staying in a residential home, away from the bustle of the hotels and resorts - yet within just a few minutes drive of the resorts, beaches, shops and restaurants. The house is incredibly well equipped with special touches and amenities that made us feel like we were staying at a hotel - white robes and slippers, generous amounts of quality shampoo/ conditioner/ soaps, plentiful solid-wood hangars and lots of closet and storage space for clothes. Even more importantly, plenty of beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards and even water bottles and portable coolers with ice packs. Everything we needed was within arms' reach, including local guide books and maps. The handwritten note upon arrival was a thoughtful touch, and the welcome-basket of fruit, snacks, and drinks was appreciated after a long flight without time to grocery shop. The bathrooms are nicely updated, the beds were extremely comfortable (even the pull-out sofa bed in the living room) and the wi-fi worked well enough for long video conferences. Prior to the trip we thought that the lack of stove might be a downside, but it wasn't. We shopped for breakfast essentials and some lunches, but found we preferred to do take-out and delivery from the many amazing restaurants closely. If we had wanted to cook a meal, the BBQ, rice cooker and many other kitchen appliances and well stocked cupboards would have worked well. We really couldn't think of anything we would change, so we'll be booking our return trip for next year!
