BIS-Duck Resort - Large 3BR/3BA - Great Pools and Beach!

  • This unique 24-acre resort property located right on the edge of the Town of Duck, NC, sits between the Ocean and the Sound, and offers access to both. This is arguably one of the best locations in the Outer Banks for convenience and walking / biking proximity to multiple activities and dining options.

    THE SPACE

    From your unit you can walk, bike, or drive to the Beach, Outdoor pool area, and the Sound. Or you can walk / bike to the village of Duck and shop or dine along the 1-mile boardwalk located along the Sound. In the evenings try not to miss some of the spectacular sunsets over the Sound.

    This is a two level 3BR/3BA Lock-off unit located in the 600 Building on the 3rd and 4th floors. One of the best features of this specific unit is the amount of space it provides for the entire family, both indoors and outdoors on 2 large decks.

    A Side - 3rd / 4th Floors - Full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc. Sit up bar / 4 stools, Dining Table / 6 chairs, Large Family room with Loveseat and Sleeper sofa, 2 Full Bathrooms w/showers, Bedroom with King bed, Large deck with Garden / Resort views, providing plenty of room for the family. 4th Floor - Very Large Bedroom with 2 Twin Beds, and plenty of room for extra sleeping. Bathroom with Shower / Tub combo.

    B Side - 3rd Floor - Living Room area with Sleeper sofa, Dining Table / 4 chairs, Kitchenette with Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc., Master bedroom with Queen bed, and another Large deck w / Scenic Garden view.

    This 3BR unit at approximately 1,700sq ft and is rated to sleep at least ten (10) persons. There is a Washer / Dryer inside your unit.

    GARDEN / RESORT VIEW CATEGORY:

    While the resort itself is Beachfront this specific unit is located in the 600 Building (see property map in the pictures section), and is located in just about the middle of the property between the Sound and the Beach.

    There are 2 large decks, one on each side of this unit offering scenic views of the Resort property. Great outdoor space available with this unit.

    It is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, but since this is a large 24+acre property that stretches from Sound to the Ocean, it can be a longer walk to the beach from certain sections of the resort versus other areas.

    If you have a lot of beach gear, or small children, it might not be practical to walk to the beach from this unit in the summer heat. Your best option might be to drive to the parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

    STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

    Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

    Almost all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit. Some have interior stairs to a 2nd level, or depending on the specific unit configuration, as few stairs up or down to one of the bedrooms inside the unit. The number of stairs varies depending on the specific unit configuration, and whether the unit is considered first floor, second floor, or third floor. Typically the higher you go the better your view is from the outdoor decks and windows.

    BIS-Duck Resort will provide assistance carrying your luggage / baggage to your unit if you would like some help.

    For this specific unit:
    Exterior Stairs to Front Door – 35 steps
    Interior Stairs to 3rd bedroom – 7 steps
    Interior Stairs to Master Bedroom - 5 steps

    UNIT INTERIORS:

    This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar renovation project was started, and expected to be completed in phases thru 2024/2025.

    Until the entire renovation is completed, resulting in every unit interior being renovated, you will find most unit interiors are clean and comfortable but dated. These units definitely have more of a rustic, almost like a cabin at the beach type feel, with older furniture and carpets. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

    The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities (including one of the largest outdoor pool areas on OBX), an onsite Beach Bar and Grill, having direct access from the property to both a beautiful Beach and the Sound, and staying in very close proximity to the Town of Duck. This is definitely one of the best locations on OBX. You also benefit from these spacious units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area.

    Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires luxury accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. If you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.

    GUEST ACCESS

    Your unit is private, but since this is a Resort property, amenities will be shared with other guests (Pools, Hot Tub, Gym, Beach, Outdoor Games, etc).

    OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

    - Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. If a security deposit is required, it will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.

    - Barrier Island Station – Duck is professionally managed and operated by Vacation Resorts International (VRI). The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay.

    - Check In time is 4:00pm and check out time is 10:00am. Please check with the resort Front Desk for any possibility of earlier unit availability and / or early use of the resort amenities during check-in days.

    - Late Check In: The Front Desk / Office is open from 8am to 7pm. If you arrive after those hours you can go to the Security office and get access to your unit. Then the following morning you will need to go to the office by 11am to get officially signed in and receive your parking passes, information, etc.

    - Three FREE parking passes are included with this unit, which you will receive from the Front Desk at Check In. If you need parking for an additional vehicle you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk.

    - Bedding linens, including blankets, sheets, and pillows are provided. However, if have you have any favorites blankets or pillows, or if you sleep better using a certain type of pillow, it would be good to bring your own.

    - If you plan on using the Sleeper sofas during your stay, I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and blankets, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed.

    - Bath and Hand towels are provided for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.

    - There is no daily housekeeping provided. However your unit does have it's own Washer / Dryer in the unit that is for your use only. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay it is available for an additional fee scheduled directly with the resort Front Desk.

    - Each Unit will receive a "Starter Package" at Check In. Your unit will have basic supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc to get you thru the first day or two of your stay. However it is highly recommended to bring additional PAPER products (toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, etc) and your own CLEANING products (detergents, cleaners, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc).

    - Pool / Beach towels are not provided. Each family should bring their own pool / beach towels

    - You should bring your own beach chairs / beach blankets / umbrellas / equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent beach chairs / umbrellas on the beach out in front of the facility.

    - The new H2OBX Waterpark recently built in Powell's Point is only about 15 miles away

    - If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Bikes are a great way to move around the resort, and also ride into the Town of Duck. Bike rentals in Duck are available if you don't bring your own. Remember to take your bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.

    - If you are interested in fishing while on vacation, there is Surf fishing out in front of the resort on the beach, or pier fishing from one of the piers on OBX. You would just need to make sure you had the proper licenses though, which can be obtained easily locally. There are also many rental and charter boats for fishing based out of the various inlets if you wanted access to waters farther offshore.

    - Pets are not permitted anywhere on or in the resort property.
