  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We lucked out, finding this rental when making last minute reservations. The condo comfortably fit our family of 4. It was clean and well furnished, provided ocean views, had an outdoor pool, and was an easy walk to the beach as well as several dinning and shopping locations.

The condo unit was very nice! Really nice upgrades, nice colors, nice style, nice location. The unit itself was very clean, but the comforters and matching pillowcases should be washed after every visitor. They felt dirty and smelled terrible. Luckily we brought our own blankets. We really appreciated the clean linens and towels that were provided for free. The emails with the information regarding our stay and the area were very helpful, but it needs to include a note that the numbered parking spots are assigned and that the parking spot numbers correlate to the unit's number. We didn't realize this and parked in a spot closest to the steps. The woman staying in the unit that correlates to that parking spot yelled at us and called a towing company. Luckily we got her to cancel the towing company. We apologized to her and explained we weren't aware of that rule, but she continued to yell at us using profanity in front of our 5 year old child. This made for an unpleasant first day of our vacation. Other than that experience, we had a great time and loved the condo and would select the same condo again in the future.

the stools at the snack bar are very uncomfortable and the internet makes you sign even more than one time per day...stupid. The deck furniture is very nice. Bed was comfortable. Couch...ok

Great fit for our family

There aren’t a lot of condos in the Outer Banks. Our family of 3 didn’t need a large house, and we wanted an ocean view. This condo delivered. Only issue we had was needing a couple more towels since they only gave us 2 to start. They quickly delivered more towels even in terrible weather. The rest of the grounds need a little love, but it doesn’t get better than a beachfront location where you also have access to a pool and you can walk to town. Don’t forget the 3 flights of stairs!

Such great potential!

I believe this is a new rental and just a few things need to be wrinkled out to make this place gold! Pros: Great unobstructed view of the ocean and pool!! We loved the blue and yellow theme which appeared to be new and thoughtfully put together. The kitchen is very small, but it has absolutely everything needed for making meals big or small. Plenty of sharp knives for prepping, big pots and pans and so many glasses, mugs, bowls, plates, etc. Great design to the new bathrooms and so wonderful that there are two full baths in a smallish floorplan. Cons: As advertised, this is a walk-up. It's a lot of steps and this should be thought about if your party will include folks with limited mobility. We had WiFi for our first two days and then it was completely down for the rest of the week. The Internet service person arrived on Thursday, said it was a hardware program and the owner had to replace it. Hopefully this has been fixed. The bunk beds are pretty uncomfortable. By the end of the week, the kids who slept on them were calling them their prison beds. The mattresses are super thin and they could feel the planks underneath them. The main bedroom stays pretty damp by the smell of it. Our bath towels and swimsuits that hung in the bathrooms never fully dried. Bring extra bath towels. Enough storage for 3-4 people. If you have more, they will most likely be living out of their suitcases. It would be great if a chest of drawers was added to the living room.

Summer Stay 2022

Cute little condo, nestled in a nice quiet beach front community. We really enjoyed our stay. Just be aware that if you are unable to or have difficulty walking, it is a third floor unit with no elevator. We would stay here again!
