Weekend Trip to the Birdhouse

It was a cute little apartment. Loved the counter space and the big kitchen sink. The bed was so comfortable that id love to know the make so we could buy one for ourselves at home! I loved the open concept with the livingroom and the kitchen with having exposed cabinets. It was very pretty. The stairs outside are a little off kilter and not level. The bathroom was a bit small. The water pressure was great coming through the faucet but when you turned the shower head on thete wasnt much pressure at qll. Overall it was a nice place to stay and the hosts were super easy to get into contact with. Easy to communicate wjth them. I really dont have any complaints at all other than the water pressure from the shower head.

My two main complaints are bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom - Remember the movie Elf? When buddy tries to shower in Papa Elf's bathroom.....same experience. The mirror at the sink is at belly level. I had to put my elbows down on the sink to see to shave. The shower - ZERO water pressure! Great news if you want a shoulder workout when rinsing your hair of conditioner. Also, you can see over the shower curtain. The curtain was about a foot inside the tub and my wife had to fix it to prevent us for stepping on it. The kitchen - the "coffee maker" thing is a joke. Don't plan on making coffee in it. Also, don't plan on cooking anything because supplies are limited. This place is adequate if you are looking to stay just one night.

Knoxville Stay at Historic Hideaway

We stayed for three weeks at this property. I read the reviews beforehand and they were accurate. We liked the location near 4th and Gill. We walked to downtown Knoxville in about 20 minutes. There were at least four breweries within a 10-15 minute walk from the property. We felt safe, although there are a lot of homeless on Broadway near Magnolia. Several shelters are located there. There were previous comments on the lack of kitchenware. There were plenty of glasses, cooking pots, measuring cups/spoons, and several cooking (glass) containers as well as storage containers and a salt and pepper. I think the problem is there were only two dinner knives and 4 large and 4 small plates. We ate a lot at the property and were constantly running the dishwasher. The laundry was on the first floor in another part of the building and was easy to access and use. Probably the biggest issue is the train whistles from the train tracks close by. They go off at all hours. My husband, who is a light sleeper, did not get many good night sleeps. There were fewest on Saturday night. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this property. The interstate is also right there, but only the truck brakes were really an issue. Traffic died down considerably at night. There was no table and chairs to eat at so we sat on the couch and used the big coffee table and our laps. If it is nice out you can sit on the outdoor furniture. It was short term clean but needs a deep clean(vents).

Adequate

This is a tiny place which probably wouldn't accommodate more than two adults. The finishes are nice enough, the important areas are clean, and the appliances work. Some things you might want to know: - You don't reserve this the same way as most other VRBOs. You have to deal with a 3rd party website. I had to upload a picture of myself, and the whole process was a pretty big hassle. - The kitchen is minimally stocked: Not very much in the way of plates, storage containers or flatware. No cutting board, dish drying rack, etc. - The water pressure in the shower is very low - The bed is comfortable - You need to park on a gravel patch in back of the building, walk through a parking lot to the front of the building and go up a flight of exterior metal stairs. If you've got heavy or bulky stuff, be prepared to exert yourself - The hosts were quick to respond when I had questions - The location is close to town, but there really isn't anything in convenient walking distance. It's in kind of an industrial area.

This Team Was Sharp

Outstandingly kept facility. The only problem I found it was in a neighborhood that was more industrial, yet safe. A bit of a drive from campus or the sites of downtown and not near enough to south bound ramps onto interstate 40. Everything else was FANTASTIC. These people know how to treat folks. Enjoyed my stay. I recommend it if you want to get away from mid Knoxville congestion and have a great way to commute into town without your own car.

Nice inside, but a night train?

apartment was recently renovated, everything was very easy to get in and out and everything inside was new and clean. However, no one had wiped down the shower, there was someone else's hair on the tile wall, and the second night we were there trains passed by with their full whistle FOUR times in one night. Would really have appreciated a warning on that front as we had a long drive to make the following day.

Great location!

This condo had the best location and all the amenities that we needed for our weekend in Knoxville. It was a five minute drive to downtown and in a very quiet neighborhood. You do hear a train several times throughout the night so if you are a light sleeper, you will want to bring earplugs and a sound machine. Well equipped kitchen. Would stay here again!

Conveniently located and a great price.

Such a quaint little spot perfect for a weekend getaway. A short walk through the magnificent 4th and Gill neighborhood leads you to multiple unique and exciting breweries and food options. Very safe feel to the neighborhood also. We walked home at midnight and it was very peaceful.

Lovely place; close to downtown.

This is a very nice apartment with excellent amenities and an extremely comfortable bed. (Important for us old people.) Everything appears new, kitchen and bathroom are fairly well equipped. It is up some steep stairs, so not good for everyone. Located close to downtown in a “transitional neighborhood.” Will probably be totally ok in a year or so. Unfortunately, there was a lot of junk across the parking lot which wasn’t too pretty. Overall, I do recommend!
