Annual Family Lake Trip

This was our first time to visit Norris Lake, TN. We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Dreams despite the rainy weather and a brief power outage right at supper prepping time our second night there. Thanks to access to a propane grill, we made it work and had a great meal. After supper we were entertained by the kids by playing charades till dark. We headed to early bed and soon after the power returned. So kudos to the power company crews for their quick work as we were only without for 6 hours. The home was every bit as described on the website. Plenty of space for our family of 7 adults, and 3 children, ages 15 mos, 8, and 10. The kitchen was roomy and had all the necessary cooking essentials . Meal prep was a breeze and having the deck for my early morning coffee was a nice way to start the day. The view from the deck was one of my favorite parts of our stay. I really appreciated the ease of walking down to the dock where we sunbathed and swam. It was an easy drive to the Shanghai Marina to rent a pontoon for the day. Unfortunately, the day we had reserved, the weather was very rainy and we headed back to the marina earlier than planned. The sun finally appeared later and we enjoyed rest of day on the dock so all worked out for us! We appreciated having a kayak to use too. The older kids especially enjoyed it. If I had any advice, it would be to bring extra emergency items like flashlights or lanterns on our next trip as we were unprepared for no power!

Great family trip

We had a fantastic time at the property. The location is great and the house is lovely and well kept. Lots of room for our family of 10 to spread out. Well equipped kitchen and the decks are really wonderful. View is amazing. Our only downside would be the Master Bedroom. It's a great space with a wonderful bathroom, but it is a loft above the living room. So there is no real privacy and you hear every noise from the LR TV and the kitchen. We made it work, but not the best set up. Otherwise fantastic house and host. Thanks for a great family trip!

Beautiful Lakefront Property

Our family of 11 spent a wonderful week at this home and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent with access to Deerfield Resort amenities, gorgeous lake views, and easy access to our private dock (including access to a dock closet with some basic rafts/noodles for swimming). We were close to several marinas with dining, bar, and fuel options. The house was very clean on our arrival and was welcoming and tastefully decorated. Check in and check out were easy, with electronic keypad access to all exterior doors. The host was extremely responsive and helpful, replying to all communication in a very timely manner. The neighborhood is pleasant and felt very safe. We enjoyed walks throughout the area and took advantage of the tennis/pickleball courts. The kitchen is better stocked than most rental properties I’ve visited. The grill is large and wee-maintained, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that there is also a sizeable flat top Blackstone-style griddle outside. We were supplied with plenty of propane to last the week. The patio and deck areas are spacious and there is ample outdoor seating. There is a basement bar area with a mini fridge, in addition to the advertised 2 refrigerators and chest freezer. I cannot recommend this property enough to any group looking for an incredible stay on the beautiful Norris Lake. There was nothing we felt the property was missing and would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Most comfortable getaway for our expanding family. We are all boaters, skiers and surfers (now) and love the amenities here. Doug was a great host and the property had everything for a large group. Spacious well stocked kitchen and dining made for wonderful mealtime. Boat dock was well maintained as was everything else and hot tub was a nice surprise. Thank you!!

Beautiful sunsets

The photos on the VRBO website doesn’t do the property justice. Such a beautiful home! Layout and decoration is gorgeous! Location on the lake was perfect! We had access to the boat slip for the pontoon we rented and our sons had access to the dry docks for their wave runners. We saw SO MANY deer and that includes the baby fawns. We will definitely be booking this home again! 🙂

Lakefront Rental- AWESOME!

I cannot say enough good things about this property and our entire stay at Norris Lake. The location is absolutely perfect, the house is very nice and conducive for small or larger gatherings. Not too many steps to the water, nice boat dock, awesome fire pit landing, large (clean) grill for cookouts, etc. The host was easy to reach and communicated promptly. Will be returning to this home for future vacations!

Perfect Location, Close to Shanghai

We had a great stay with plenty of room for everyone. The kayak/canoe mentioned in the listing was not onsite. The owner said one was being delivered next week but offered to order one from a local store for us to pick up rather than do without. We decided to pass. If having a kayak is a must for you, you may want to check to see if it's on site. We also had an issue with the hot tub but the owner was super quick getting someone to the house to get the hot ready for use. We had a great stay and the owner was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this location and will return!

Great property with ample room for all family members. Kitchen was very well equipped as we prepared Thanksgiving meal. Property owner very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely return! Enjoy our stay so much.
