Waterfront, peaceful, cozy, cottage w/dock amazing sunsets, kayaks,3 bed/2 bath.

  • Quaint cozy waterfront cottage situated on N. Lake Leelanau with amazing sunset views. Centrally located to everything Leelanau has to offer. If you're looking for a new place to unwind and feel connected to nature and those you love, this is your place. Around the house there is plenty of space, grass, sun and shade to enjoy. Spend the mornings enjoying a cup of coffee from the main or upper deck or go for a paddle ride with one of the 2 kayaks or canoe the cottage has to offer. Later, everyone can gather around the firepit as burgers cook on the Weber grill.

    The cottage dining area and living room faces the lake and opens onto a large deck for relaxing and dining on. The cottage has one main floor (queen) bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms with full size beds, perfect for a family or 3 couples. For warmer days, you can enjoy a nice breeze from across the lake with the many windows throughout the cottage or use a portable fan on the main level with the 2 upper bedrooms having ceiling fans. Our kitchen is equip with everything you need for an enjoyable vacation along with a dining table that seats 6 for dining and playing games.

    Cable TV and internet is also provided for your entertainment pleasure. Along with a washer and dryer for washing anything you may need to. However, please note our cottage currently does not have AC/ Dishwasher.

    Our new dock is available for tying your boat to and there is generous parking for your boat trailer as well. Two boat launches are only a few miles away. The lake is clear and shallow for small children and big kids too.

    During prime summer months our cottage is available from Saturday to Saturday.

    The cottage is located on a private well maintained dirt road, so the setting is quiet and peaceful. Come and enjoy the cottage and explore Leelanau and all it has to offer: the cozy cottage, the stunning lake views, vast fruit orchards, wineries, shopping and dining.

This is a darling little cottage on North Lake, right across from the sand bar. We had a wonderful time here, enjoying the sunny dock and shaded deck and front yard, fire pit with lots of seating. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean and updated. Water is delicious! (If you frequent this area, you may know that is not a given). I enjoyed the front upstairs bedroom with a slider to the lake - listening to the lapping waves all night.

Very nice cottage on the Lake. Spent time for Fall Colors, place was immaculately clean, had a friendly floor plan and was a great place for RR. Owner is very nice, made sure stay went seamlessly. Would def stay again!

Great getaway!

This is a great place! We loved every minute of our time here and hope to book again on our next trip up north. It's located so close to everything fun: wineries, cideries, breweries, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc!

The cottage was clean with everything necessary for food prep and comfort. The yard and lake are beautiful. The location is perfect for easy shopping, hiking and touring the wineries! We highly recommend and plan to return!

Family Vacation...We spent the last 5 days in the lovely Mellow Yellow cottage in the Leelanau Peninsula. The cottage was perfect for what we needed with our older adult children! plenty of space, a great outdoor area, and even a dock for your boat. We rented ours from a local place, and it is only a few minutes away, as you are located in the narrows of Lake Leelanau. The house is for sure not in a spot where you can swim directly from shore, as you are in the narrows and lots of boats break down as they need to slow down in that area, but the lake has plenty of swimming spots that you can get to with your boat or not. We love the sandbars around the lake, too. This cottage is also located in the middle of Suttons Bay and Fish Town, so great location!!!! We would for sure stay here again. Keep in mind that the cottage has no AC.

Perfect Lake Getaway

This place couldn’t have been any better! We had the most wonderful week here with family- the kids enjoyed the water toys and the adults loved spending time on the patio watching them play in the water. The Host was wonderful- kind and excellent communication! Can’t recommend this place enough- We will be back!

Great cabin for a family trip

The cabin was cute, clean, and perfect for a trip up North. Great location on the lake and easy to get to town, as well as Traverse City. The kayaks, canoes, and the dock were perfect for a hot summer day. The hosts were also wonderful! Would stay here again!

Wonderful cottage

My family of four enjoyed our Memorial weekend at this perfect cottage! The location was great, near Traverse City, Leland, Northport and Glen Arbor. They had all the amenities we needed. They had water toys for the kids and kayaks/canoe to use also. We had a great weekend!

Fantastic Spot

Absolutely wonderful cottage situated beautifully between so many activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the house itself is lovely, the view is beautiful, kids loved the kayaks and fishing, quick drive to Leland/Suttons Bay/Northport/Bike trails, and the owner was incredibly kind, prompt, and informative. Thank you for such a great spot!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakefront vacation home in Michigan!The location was perfect, with stunning views of the lake and peaceful surroundings. We especially loved spending time by the water, where there was plenty of comfortable seating to relax, read, or simply take in the scenery. The dock is very sturdy, new and capable of keeping our 19 ft fishing boat there all week without issues. The assortment of water equipment and supplies was a nice bonus and made it easy to enjoy time out on the lake. Each evening, we looked forward to watching the beautiful sunsets from the shoreline, and ending the day around the fire pit made our stay even more memorable.The home itself was well-maintained, and very welcoming. We truly appreciated a thoughtful greeting card and gifts-they were such a kind touch and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.During our stay, there was a minor issue with the refrigerator, and the property manager, Deb was very conscientious about it. Her prompt communication and attention to the issue were greatly appreciated and demonstrated how much she cares about her guests' experiences.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mellow Yellow and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing lake getaway.

My husband, 15 month old daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Mellow Yellow! The best week of our year so far. We enjoyed dinners on the back porch looking out over the lake and reading by the firepit in the evenings. The cottage is in a great location for exploring- we hiked, kayaked, went to lighthouses and wineries. Debbie was such an accommodating host. We hope to be back!

Fall vacation getaway

My wife and I stayed here M-F the second week in October. We came for the fall foliage, scenic drives, wineries, cideries and relaxation in a cozy house on a lake. All boxes checked…we had a perfect week! This house had plenty of room, was well equipped and the entire rental process was flawless!

Lovely Lakefront

We love the Leelanau Peninsula and wanted to share with our friends who visited from Ireland this summer. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. We all we able to relax and explore. We would definitely use Mellow Yellow again.

Great Up North Stay. Winery Heaven

This is a wonderful spot in the world! Perfect spot for a group of friends traveling to the Leelanau Peninsula and Leland! We did a kayak trip and visited some wineries! It was super cozy and comfortable! Deb was super great to work with! Great communication and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect!

Great Stay!

Our lil family of 5 (3 kids aged 9-11) had a wonderful stay at the Mellow Yellow cottage! Anything you could think of they had! This was a great location! We have friends that live on the lake and they were able to come dock their boat and stay for a s’more visit and the sunset views were spectacular. We will be back!

Another great stay on LL

The property interior was clean and well- maintained, well stocked, and comfortable! The property manager was very kind, and extremely flexible and communicative!!! We were able to dock our boat at the house and enjoyed a few days of swimming, bonfires, boating, and playing in the nice backyard. We love Leland and Mellow Yellow offered great place to stay while enjoying our favorite area.
