Had a great time here! Great location. The stairs were a lot, but definitely worth being so close to the water! Very clean and organized inside, comfy beds, and a very reasonable to-do list before checking out. Main problem was the spiders and spiderwebs outside! Definitely need a cleaning/pest service for certain times of the year, but would definitely stay here again despite the bugs. Loved the paddle boards and life jackets. Thanks for letting us enjoy the home!

Everything was absolute wonderful!! The steps were a struggle! Don’t assume you can walk them if you aren’t in great shape! We were pitiful going up to the car. It was comical!

The lack of railings with no water in the lake was of great concern. We should have been told the water was in this condition. The house itself was perfect.

Post Helene our beloved Lake Lure is still not herself but sweet memories were made still!We love this little red gem and will be back again next year :) Blessings!

Family Vaca

I booked this house for our annual family vacation with my husband’s family. The house definitely has a lot of stairs but it’s so nice to be right on the lake!! It was also so nice to be able to dock our boat right there at the house. Overall our stay was great!

Amazing

The listing is underselling itself. The place is incredible. The 100 steps are no big deal and the luggage ‘train’ is clutch. Such a chill wonderful stay. One of the best places on the lake and minutes from the grocery store and restaurants. Will 100% be staying here again

A gem of an experience.

It was so easy and convenient to rent this property. The manager Kathleen is great and added a personal touch to make sure we had all the info. An awesome home to enjoy. We will be back.

Great Vacation

Great stay on Lake Lure. There are a lot of steps to get down to the house, but this was made clear and we loved that the house walked right out to the lake. Everything was as communicated, couldn’t ask for an easier renting experience.

Great House

This house was just as described. They even had paddleboards for us to use. We did rent a boat for the week, and we were able to dock it at the house. House was clean, had all the essentials, was very close to Chimney Rock. We will rent again.

Lake Lure Long weekend

Very nice, spacious home. Loved staying in one of the coves, much calmer, quieter access to water activities. We brought our small boat, quick drive from marina. With the train out during our stay ( which we knew way ahead of time) we used the boat to go to/from to avoid the steps. It worked out well. Will stay again 😊

Great Property!

We enjoyed our stay and it's a great location and property. The one thing to note is the house is down at the lake and there are a lot of stairs to climb (over 100). If you don't mind a little exercise you will love the property. My understanding is they are working on fixing the train or will be putting in a new lift.

Summer vacation

Property manager was very attentive. The house was our favorite so far of our 4 trips to Lake Lure. The downstairs kitchen to deck set up was perfect. The teens loved jumping off the boat house . We rented a boat for a couple of days too. Green paddle board was awesome . Great house. We will be back

Very Nice Place

Very nice home. Lots of wonderful features. Highly recommend. Beautiful lake front, screen in porches, etc. Very nice. However, fancy shower in main bedroom on 2nd floor did not drain well which distracted from an otherwise wonderful property. The concern is greater given that others have shared having the same issue based on online reviews.

Perfect Getaway

This home is on a quiet cove, perfect for floating on rafts and using SUPs! Check in was smooth, the property was clean and well equipped. We used all of the outdoor decks and toys extensively.. even enjoyed a trip around the lake on a pontoon boat from a kind neighbor! Highly recommend this property. Grocery store is 3 min drive. Plenty to do and see locally yet we just relaxed at the house and enjoyed the serene surroundings!! There are truly 100 steps down to the home.. your cardio workout is included : ) You will not be disappointed with this hidden gem listing!!

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

We had family traveling from Columbia, Greenville and Clemson, SC to stay for the long holiday weekend. Lots of parking available—we had 5 cars and a small kayak trailer. The Lake Lure train for luggage and coolers worked perfectly to get our items to and from the house. We loved the interior spaces and we had everything we needed. Everyone enjoyed swimming, jumping off the dock and the SUPs got lots of use! We also watched “A Breed Apart” that was filmed at the house and all in the lake close to the house. It was neat to see how much has changed and what we recognized. We highly recommend this beautiful home!!

Disappointed

We were forced to leave early because the septic was not working. Also 2 of the 3 fireplaces were not working. It could have been a great stay, but they need to address the problems.

Christmas getaway.

We enjoyed the layout of the house and the fireplace in the rooms was a nice touch. Lake views also add a nice touch. The house sits at bottom of the hill so be ready to walk down and up close to 100 steps, fortunately we are an athletic family so we didn’t mind the steps. We had some minor issues that were resolved by Kathleen who was on sight. We enjoyed Chimney Rock, we went zip lining at The Forge and great places to hike like Little Bradley Falls. We did a goat cheese tour and tasting at Round Mountain Creamery (recommended). We dinned at The Highlands-high end, Fish House-casual and La Strada- Italian. Very nice home and location for a getaway.

Suggest investing in a better lower dock with actual stairs. The house was very nice. It was spacious and well stocked with all the necessary supplies. The bathrooms were great and the whole house was clean and tidy and well furnished. Sadly the lake was missing but this obviously cannot be helped. It would have been an awesome spot with the water. Please understand that this house does require a tremendous amount of stairs to be negotiated. There are the 100 to get from the parking area to the house and the house is three floors. The tram was not working while we were there and is the reason for the four star review. It was a lot of work getting everything to and from the house. Otherwise we had a five star stay and will hopefully be able to get back when the work on the lake is complete.
