“This is a lovely cottage that is a short drive to South Higgins State Park. The kitchen is spacious and is well stocked with pots and pans and utensils and dishes. The back screened-in porch is a nice little addition. We did not use the greenhouse/gazebo in the back or the fire pit. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed near Higgins Lake. ”

“The house was beautiful and well stocked with everything you could need for an up north stay. The property was private and serene with all neighbors a good distance away. It’s a 10 minute walk to the beach but you can easily drive and park along the road. Would definitely book and stay here again! ”

“Marilyn and Jim couldn’t have been better. Communication was great, check-in couldn’t have been easier. The cottage was spotless. The beach area was a big hit. This is a sandy bottom lake which is great for water clarity and if you don’t like squishy/muddy lake bottoms. Sunsets right over the lake were amazing. Could’t recommend it more, enjoy!”

The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies, and the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. The location was ideal, with close stores for groceries or food. You are able to see houghton lake from the location as it’s at the beginning of the canal. Fun to watch boats come in and out. Only negative is that you are unable to swim at the property.
