We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maggie Valley at this property with our extended family. There was ample room for everyone, and the location was convenient to hiking, the National Park, Cherokee, Deep Creek, Bryson City, and of course, Maggie Valley. The beds were comfortable, and the atmosphere around the cabin was very peaceful and quiet.
The cabin needs a couple of improvements, however. As some other reviewers complained, the cabin is so dark... it needs several more bulbs, lamps, or other sources of light. It was difficult to play card games, cook, read, etc.- especially in the evenings- because it was so very dark in there. Secondly, there are a few things broken that just need to be identified and repaired (toilet paper holders, refrigerator shelf + drawer, coffee maker, etc.). None of these are deal-breakers, just would make the property a little nicer and easier to stay in. Lastly, the driveway is pretty intense. It's very steep, and there is no way I would attempt it in the winter without 4-wheel drive. We had quite a lot of trouble getting up the driveway in our minivan. Our last day there, we attempted it 6 times (sliding all over the place, getting stuck in ruts), before having to unload the van of people and luggage and then finally getting up to the main road. Needless to say, with 4 young children, it was quite a task to take all of our luggage and coolers up to the top of a long, steep driveway by hand. All in all. I would recommend it, but beware of the driveway if you're in a front wheel drive vehicle and bring a book light ;-)
