  • This well-appointed lower level 800 ft.² unit at Qualla Cabin is located in a secluded mountain area with awesome long range views (4500ft) centrally located west of the town of Maggie Valley, on the border of the Cherokee Reservation. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is minutes away, for unlimited mountain cruising and hiking in the Great Smoky National Park. Maggie Valley offers Cataloochee Ski Lodge, Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum, snow tubing, a variety of restaurants and pubs, and shopping. Visit the casino in Cherokee, or head to Asheville for the day. Enjoy long-range mountain vistas from the comfort of the full-length, ground-level deck while sipping your favorite beverage. Watch and listen to abundant bird life. It's not uncommon to catch a glimpse of elk or black bears that share the mountain with us. Hummingbirds flit from feeder to feeder, as do Gold finches, Nuthatches, Cardinals, Bluebirds and the Tufted Titmouse . You won't want to miss the spectacular sunsets on display nightly, or watch storms roll in through the valley. There is a lot to do if you choose, but it's also the perfect place to slow down and just breathe!

Our host, Cptn' Tony was an amazing host. He provided recommendations for places to dine as well as visit while in the area. The cabin was everything and more. The landscape was beautiful and views of the mountains were spectacular.the cabin is private, clean and cozy. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the immaculately clean cabin and visiting with the owners. The views here were amazing, and we welcomed the evening rain and cooler weather during our stay.Numerous activities nearby and the cabin is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Soco Falls.This was just what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary! Thanks again!

Cabin had wonderful mountain views from the outside seating areas, with hummingbirds buzzing around everywhere. It was quite nice. Cabin was very clean and cozy, perfect for a couples retreat. Even had the chance to experience a bear strolling through the porch and front yard. Host were very welcoming and attentive, also supplied us with a lot of information of things to do in the area.

This was the most relaxing rental that we have ever enjoyed. Everything was immaculate and the views are absolutely breathtaking. It's a great central location for Maggie Valley, Waynesville and Cherokee. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very close by with even more spectacular views. We loved the beautiful sunsets and all the wildlife. The owners are the nicest people. We enjoyed meeting Capt. Tony and Nancy, plus their sweet pups! The cabin is extremely well stocked and the bed was very comfortable! My favorite thing was watching the chipmunks and the hummingbirds. We stayed 3 nights and that was not long enough. Needless to say, we will be back soon!

Our hosts were very hospitable and helpful with recommendations on local restaurants and attractions. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and we enjoyed the autumn decorations. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, and of course the view did not disappoint!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin and views are beautiful. The neighborhood is gorgeous and we were close to hiking which led us to choose it. Our hosts were very approachable and attentive and answered all of our questions promptly.

What an amazing place to stay! Can't recommend it enough, both for the location as well as the wonderful hosts. This was the best VRBO I have ever had and will certainly be back when in the Smokies.

Mountain Getaway

Qualla Cabin was a cozy stay central to several Smokey Mountain towns. Each day we were able to drive s somewhere new. We enjoyed hiking, shopping, local festivals and great food.

This lower floor cabin was perfect in size for our getaway. The interior was well decorated, in good repair and we made good use of the deck to enjoy the view and sunsets. The cabin is deep in the Smokies with a few other dwellings quite a distance away. No sign of civilization in the view from the back deck and plenty of peace and quiet.Captain Tony and Nancy the hosts who live in the upper floor, were a pleasure to meet and I would not have known they were there had they not dropped by and said hello.The only two things that were not ideal about the cabin was the Internet connection was slow at times and this caused problems with Chat GPT image generation and some stutters when we streaming the World Cup on the TV. The TV is a Roku TV which was a plus as I was able to connect to my home plex server and have access to all my content and live TV.Finally the shower stream was stinging with no way to control the flow. Some people may like that but for me it made my showers uncomfortable.

It was amazing. The weather was great and Tony and Nancy were awesome. It was perfect. You couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was extremely clean and the view was awesome. All the bears that we had the chance to see. It was the best vacation that we have had in a good while.

We had a great stay. The place was very nicely furnished and impeccably clean. The host was very friendly and clearly cared about the quality of his place and our experience. The view from the rocking chairs on the deck was amazing.

Had a great time. Place was very clean and well stocked. Views were awesome. Spent lots of time on the porch enjoying the mountains. Hosts Capt. Tony and his wife Nancy are very friendly and great hosts.

Excellent view!

We loved the view and being able to sit outside on the porch, soaking in God’s beauty while drinking coffee and listening to nature! Tony and Nancy had wonderful recommendations of things to do (and eat!!!). Easy access to the parkway, and can easily get to Cherokee and Waynesville! They were very accommodating and personable! Highly recommend!

Best place to stay by far!

This place was the cleanest and nicest place we’ve stayed at. Capt Tony and Nancy are two of the nicest people you’ll meet. The view from the cabin and property was absolutely stunning. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was all we had hoped for and more. We will definitely be back!

Heavens window

Our anniversary getaway at Captain Tony and Nancy's beautiful mountain home was everything we could have hoped for and more.Their place was spotless, cozy, and so thoughtfully prepared-it instantly felt like a home away from home. We loved every moment, from peaceful walks along the Oconaluftee River and relaxing time at Lake Junaluska, to exploring the charm of downtown Waynesville with its great food and local shops.It was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and small-town magic. We're already looking forward to our next trip back to this wonderful state filled with kind-hearted people

Captain Tony, property manager, is amazing! Went out of his way to make sure my handicapped husband had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody.
