This was our second time staying at Hookdown Hideaway. Our family had another amazing week enjoying the house, the pool and beautiful scenery. We saw manatees, dolphins, lizards and lots of different birds. Looking forward to our vacation there next summer!

Wonderful Family Getaway!!! We stayed at this beautiful home for a full week with our whole family, and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Keys. The location on the canal with ocean access was such a bonus — we loved watching the boats go by, fishing right from the dock, and taking in the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for everyone to spread out. The outdoor area was definitely the highlight — the pool was sparkling and warm, and the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind in the evenings. We spent most of our time outside grilling, swimming, and enjoying the tropical breeze.The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts were great with communication. It was close to restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions, but still felt peaceful and private.We made so many wonderful family memories here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing Florida Keys getaway!

Perfect spot for our group of 8!

We stayed here Thanksgiving week and the place was perfect for two families and we cooked our full thanksgiving meal at the house! Loved the pool and hot tub, gorgeous views, and the available kayaks and paddle boards! Cooking was no issues and kitchen had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay again!!

Great House

We had a great time at this house. We loved the view, pool, dock, and everything else that came with it. We saw manatees, bonefish, tarpon, and plenty of tropical fish. We hope to go back soon.

2025 family vacation

The house is absolutely amazing!!! We couldn’t have dreamed of more. So well stocked we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. The house, pool and water is absolutely stunning. We had such a great time and enjoyed the pool and fishing each day we didn’t want to do much else. We caught sharks every day, saw manatees, beautiful coral fish, crab, lobsters all standing by the rocks looking out. We are definitely going back!!!

Great location in Marathon

Our family loved this house and the amenities. The pool and hottub were large enough for our group of 6. The location had beautiful views and the fishing from the dock was great! Lots of fish!

Incredible Property

It was everything that was advertised and more. Very nicely decorated, perfect layout, and incredible views. The pool was huge and put on a light show at night, which the kids loved. We had the best vacation here and did not want to leave. Thank you to the owners for sharing your property with us.

Paradise in the Keys

We loved our vacation at Hook Down Hideaway. The home was beautifully decorated, clean, and had everything you could need including beach towels for the pool. What our family most enjoyed during our stay was lounging in the pool/hot tub, the scenic views, sunrises and wildlife sightings. We saw lizards, iguanas, pelicans, herons, tarpon and lots of other birds and fish. Already looking forward to our week next summer.

Complete relaxation

The owners did not leave one amenity out. The outside pool area is amazing. We didn’t spend much time inside, the outside was perfect. We had a great breeze off the water and enjoyed a visit from a manatee the 2nd day there. Highly recommended property!!

You Spoiled Us!

Absolutely incredible space, location, and property manager support. Our stay was planned as a "once in a lifetime trip" to celebrate a recent retirement but after staying at Hook Down Hideaway my husband and I agreed it has to be an annual event and that no other place measures up. We enjoyed the pool, the outdoor TV, the beautiful home, comfy couch and beds. Everything we needed was already there! The pool, fishing off the dock, kayaking and paddle boarding were daily events. We enjoyed the town, its many restaurants and can't wait to come next year. We have already scheduled time.

March Vacation

The 7 of us had a fantastic time getting away from the hustle and bustle. Love how Marathon is a low-key area, with much less hassle than Key West (as well as less of a drive from Miami), and the house itself is no more than 5 minutes from any restaurant or grocery store on the island. The house itself has everything you could need for cooking, as well as kayaks and a pool for getting out to the reef for fishing or relaxing in after a day in the sun. Communication with the host was seamless, and we couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Amazing

This was our 5th spring break to the FL keys. We stay at different places every year. But I think we have finally found the best! It was expensive for just 1 family, but you pay for what you get. It was clean, perfect location, had everything you need. We rented a pontoon boat this year so we could fish and relax at the sand bar, but we always wanted to return to the pool. It was AMAZING!! Lord willing we can return for many more spring breaks in the future.

Spectacular!!!

I am a bit of a clean freak and normally feel like I have to clean or sanitize when I arrive at a vacation home...not at all with this place, sparkling clean and an incredible location both on the water and land. We rented a boat and had easy access to several reefs for amazing snorkeling and amazing fishing locations. Super easy and quick access to groceries, drug stores and restaurants, yet at the end of a quiet street. Mornings and late afternoon/evenings unwinding in the pool and/or spa was incredible with spectacular views of ocean, sunrise and sunsets. Also, the app provided convenient and easy access to all of the amenities and requirements. My only suggestion would be to improve upon the lack of paper products and basics like laundry detergent. Though well appointed and a lovely welcome gift, a supply of basic needs would have been much appreciated upon arrival. All in all, an absolutely wonderful stay and highly recommended.

Florida Keys Paradise

We had a dream vacation from check-in to check-out and didn't want it to ever end! From the calming decor inside to an enormous pool and beautiful landscaping outside, every detail of this home seems thoughtfully considered. Everything you need for a week of fun - they've thought of it all. The kitchen was completely stocked for family meals, and we also hit a variety of great waterfront restaurants within just a few miles. Sunrise coffee on the balcony to sunset cocktails in the hot tub - and lazy pool days in between! We watched dolphins, manatee and pelicans right out front, and just enjoyed the endless view. Our grandson caught fish from the dock, then prepared our catch at the fish cleaning table while we watched (and relaxed!) from under the tiki!! He dove and snorkeled with a local dive shop (recommended in the electronic guestbook,) and had an amazing day on the reef literally right in front of the house - if only we'd had our own boat! From sunup to sundown, Hook Down Hideaway did not disappoint. We can't wait to return next year!
