We were a large group in town for my brother’s funeral. My sister in law’s house was too small to entertain so many family members and friends and the McQueeney house was perfect. Only 10 of us stayed overnight but it couldn’t have been better. Close to the funeral in New Braunfels and close-ish to Fort Sam Houston. It was beautiful and comfortable and well appointed. This house far exceeded our expectations! Having such a large main area was wondeful for spending time with the group, but having each bedroom be so massive was nice for each family to have their own space for kids naps and bedtimes. There was a great space avaliable to set up kids toys and we appreciated the toys and gate/baby play pen we were able to put at the top of the stairs provided by the rental. The pots and pans were great quality for cooking. The outdoor spaces were truley amazing and so relaxing.The only thing was that we couldnt get to the water with the kids safely on the ladders because of how low the water level was. We enjoyed the dock for fishing and watching ducks and kayaks go by with the kids. The fire pit was great for smores! Overall it was an amazing stay and we hope to come back next year.

Family Reunion

Spacious and comfortable for a large group, 21 of us, all ages. Really enjoyed having space to spend time with family. Listing is accurate, property clean, hosts responsive. The water was not swimmable at the time we were there. Things to improve - grass was too long to comfortably use the large yard for activities, the host tried to send gardeners out but they weren’t available in time, the water pressure in the first jack & jill on the left when facing down the hall was so low it was like a rain drizzle. The sliding bathroom door was so hard to open in close in that first bedroom on the left; important when sharing a bathroom. Parking was great, a/c and fans much appreciated.

Great Riverfront home!

The home was really spacious for the amount of people we had. Rooms are very large, living and kitchen space is massive. The balcony is perfectly located looking over the back yard and river. Jessica, the owner was very communicative and was very quick to reply and help.

GREAT PLACE TO BE

We had a women’s ministry rest at Jessica’s, and she was so communicative with us the whole time! We had so much space to play games, do discussion, and we loved the outside even though it was chilly. We also loved that all the rooms were on the same floor. The kitchen was so well stocked and we were able to use the appliances without struggling.

Great family get away

Though the lake is lowered for dam repairs being on the water was great. We had a large group of family and friends and the home worked well for 30 people. The kitchen had all the equipment needed for cooking for our group. There were plenty of towels and they even provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The teens loved the ping-pong table and we made s'mores in the big fire pit and fished off the dock. The only cons I can think of would be that the air hockey table didn't function right and had to buy toilet paper and trash bags because not enough were provided.

Huge accommodating Home!

Beautiful view! The water was quite low, but we did actually swim one day and it was great! Plenty of space for Family games and activities! We were very comfortable in this home!

Great stay in McQueeney

Our first family reunion was a great success partly due to our accommodations. 11 adults,1 teen, 12 children ages 11-3, and one toddler all enjoyed the sleeping space, the great room the lawn and and river with the dock access.

Spacious house for multi-family getaway!

My family had a wonderful time at the Placid Lake Lodge. We have 5 different family units with a total of 9 kids and there was plenty of room for all! The bedrooms were large and spacious with lots of options for sleeping arrangements and the main living area was also plenty expansive for it to not feel crowded or too crazy! Communication with Jessica was very easy and clear. We loved the closeness to the water and beautiful lawn with all the trees and shade! Thank you for a wonderful place to host our large family!

Spring Break

The house was large enough for our family(13) and very comfortable and clean. Plenty of essentials were provided. The owner was very communicative. The only issue for us was, the water was too low to kayak!! We enjoyed our stay very much, would highly recommend!!

JaMonica Wedding

Where do we start - everything was simply amazing!! We began working with Jessica early in 2023 in renting the location and letting her know we would be using it as a wedding site and place for family and friends to stay together over the weekend. Jessica was very helpful, prompt, and responsive. We had very good vibes from her from the beginning. We toured the location prior to our special day and were awestruck at the beauty, energy, and openness of the location. Our wedding was the November 11 2023 and every guest we had simply loved the accommodations. During our stay we stayed in communication with Jessica who remained responsive and attentive. The site was simply beautiful and well maintained and fit our needs perfectly. I highly recommend this site and it is perfect for an intimate wedding. Rating a solid 5 stars!!

Perfect spot for a large group get-together

The house is absolutely gorgeous, incredibly spacious and perfectly equipped for large groups! My husband and I got married in a private ceremony and rented this space for a weekend celebration just a few days later. It was nothing short of perfect- simply unforgettable! I would return again and again :)

Family reunion

The house is beautiful. We rented for 14 to 16 persons. I contacted the owner regarding supplies for the house. No complain regarding linens and towels, but one roll of paper towels for so many for 4 days. Also limited supply of toilet paper. No hangers in closets. One tea spoon for so many. Also , there were spider webs on the windows mostly outside as well as in living room and dinning room. The lower outside level not clean full of leaves. The extra refrigerator was not very clean.

On the river

Location was awesome and rooms were perfect. The only issues were there were not enough towels for the amount of guests and no towels in the kitchen. Dishwasher did not work. The space was very good for over 25 guests but kitchen table could be a little bigger
