At one point, a man entered the space unannounced saying he was there to fix the smoke alarm, which was concerning since we had not been notified. When I contacted the owner about this, they did not reply. On the second morning, the smoke detector started...

“Our stay started off poorly, as the host had us checking in a day late, when clearly the reservation was correct. Then, he would not respond to my messages or to VRBO when they called him repeatedly. We had to wait at the airport for an hour while VRBO attempted to contact him. Finally, they were able to reach him and we received our check in information. Upon arrival, the unit was not very clean as there was long brown hair in both showers. In addition, there was a strong sewage smell...

“I had reserved this place for my parents for its practicality, thinking it would just be a comfortable place for them to sleep and shower while they spent most of their time out and about during the day. However, I found this apartment to be lacking in several key areas. It's small and at the top of several flights of stairs. This wouldn't normally be an issue in and of itself, but it would have been good to know. Inside, the bed is also quite small and the temperature is difficult to control....
