Spacious one-bedroom Hawaiiana. Visit Volcano!

  • Spacious one-bedroom unit on a two acre property will provide you a real taste of big island living. Peaceful and relaxing environment. Fresh mountain air. Magnificent native foliage. Comfortable cool climate.

    Explore the island by kayaking in Hilo Bay. Complimentary rental of two ocean kayaks for the guests listed in the booking.

    The property is located between Hilo town (30 min drive) and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (25 min drive), convenient to explore the windward side of the island.

    Our duplex home consists of three bedroom main house and one bedroom/guest house. Both units are currently being rented out. The units are separated by laundry room and carport - the shared space with other guests.

    The one-bedroom unit (left side of the duplex) is bright with lots of natural sun light and breezy trade winds. Two private entrances, a wrap-around lanai and a large private front and back porches where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail drinks.

    The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a full bed with 100% cotton sheets. A full size pull-out sofa in the living room sleeps additional two guests.
    The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, air fryer, and other essentials for cooking. The bathrooms are furnished with clean towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer.

    Our water comes from the rain water catchment system, very common for this island. It is filtered by UV light system, but it may not be best for drinking. You may want to bring your own bottled water.
    The laundry room and carport are common area to be shared with other guests staying in the three bedroom main house.
    The gate lock code and other check in instructions will be provided a day before your arrival.

We enjoyed a lot staying in this house. Very nice, well organized, comfortable.All the family enjoyed it a lot!Good location to access to the volcano national park and to beaches and lagoons in Hilo.

Very nice rental. The drawback is there is no air conditioning. There were a couple of stand fans and table fans. We did clean the stand fans and one of the table fans. You also have a gate lock to deal with each time you go in and out. Not all windows had screens nor the doors. However if you don’t mind the humidity and heat in the rental, it’s a great place. I did not even think to ask about a/c so I take full responsibility for that. The owner was responsive to messages. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was adequate. Tv in living area only.

It was spacious and clean. The location was perfect for the places we wanted to visit. The counter space in the kitchen was pretty small, but we didn’t do much cooking anyway.

Immaculate, beautiful property. Wonderful quality amenities with everything easy to find. Excellent communication amd directions from host. The photos are lovely and the home itself is even better. Everything was so thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with nothing overdone. Great access to VNP and Hilo. Our stay was a highlight of our trip.

Very clean property and well stocked. We did not end up doing any cooking but even though there is no oven / stove, there are plenty kitchen gadgets for doing cooking if needed. We stayed as a home base while visiting Volcano National Park and it was a quick 20ish minute drive to the park entrance. Very nice wrap around Lanai. Feels very remote enjoyed hearing all the wildlife!

The house was in good condition and kept clean. The location is a bit remote and difficult to find, especially at night. It is rather far from everything we wanted to do on the island, except the volcano.

The interior is spacious and comfortable. Although there isn’t a full stove, there’s plenty of other appliances (dual hot plate, large air fryer, etc) to be able to make meals. The bed was comfortable, but it would be nice if the drapes were room darkening - we clipped them together so that helped so that we could sleep in a bit. The location is a bit remote, but close enough to the grocery store, etc & very convenient to the volcano park. Daytime is very peaceful, but we’d suggest brining ear plugs for sleeping - there’s an invasive species of frog that come to life at night, and can be a bit noisy! The hosts provide a lot of extras that you can borrow for beach days, and made our stay great overall!

The whole house was clean and kitchen was equipped with everything you need. The only thing I would suggest would be to get a bigger by the street address sign so you can see it at night when you try finding in the dark. This was one of the best VRBO stays ever. I would strongly recommend.
