  • Sugar Shack is your perfect vacation spot. Located right in the heart of Garden City Beach, and less than a 1.5 minute walk to beach access! The main floor of this home features an open floor plan with a fully-equipped kitchen and convenient breakfast bar with plenty of seating adjacent to the dining area and main living room. This home offers furnished porches, poolside living space with TV, two living areas, and ample parking. Please see our Pet Policy that applies to all Pet-friendly homes, which is strictly enforced.

The Sugar Shack was such a great place for my family and I, including my dog. The location to the beach was so convenient, the pool was amazing, and the outdoor seating areas on every level were so relaxing. It was such a great experience for us, along with the ease it was to communicate with the hosts. I’d definitely bring my family back to the Sugar Shack!

The entire property was very dirty. My wife cleaned the house when we got there to make it livable for us. There were chairs on both balconies that were rotten. The pool lights never worked for our entire week. The screen porch has multiple rips on the front porch. Overall for what we paid this house was a disappointment.

This house is even better in person. The property manager/team were fantastic and checked in a couple of times by text to see if we needed anything. The pool is great and the backyard is massive, with a great family sitting area and more space with lounge chairs. Tall fence really made it feel private and helped with the dog. It’s so close to the beach. Will stay here again for sure.

First trip to GC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved our trip to Garden City. The house is close to beach and other places, like a little grocery store, arcade and the pier. Loved the privacy of the outdoor area.

I really have two ratings, one is for Sea Star Realty and one for the house. Sea Star Realty gets 5 stars for service. They are very nice and very responsive. When we arrived at the house the second floor was kind of warm. We thought it was because the air was not set right. We contacted Sea Star Realty and they sent someone out. He took immediate action. He went and got a portable air unit and set it up and got the up stairs cooling and comfortable. They had the heating and air company there that day and they addressed the problem. I had several other requests that I sent via text and they responded in short order. They also provide a credit with a company VaykLife where you can rent beach gear. We used it and it was a nice benefit.The house had some really good points. The location is great. It is an easy walk to the beach and it is convenient to the Garden City Beach pier area. The pool is very nice and my granddaughter loved it as well as the adults. My issue with the house is the first picture you see is the back of the house with the pool. In that picture it shows steps coming off the back of the house. Those steps have been removed so there is no longer an exit out of the back of the house. The only entrance and exit is through the front door. The kitchen is located right there near the front door. If something were to happen. There is only one exit. The house has smoke detectors but this is a show stopper for us renting this house again.

Nice House with Excellent Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Sugar Shack is a beautiful home with a spacious layout, plenty of indoor & outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the beach. The screened front porch was relaxing in the mornings, and the pool/patio was a perfect break from the beach. Movie night was great on the outside pool patio in the evening. Two master bedrooms, one on each level were a nice touch. A quick 3 minute easy walk to beach access (150 yards away). The only complaint is that the house wasn't as clean as it should have been. Bedroom ceiling fans had a thick layer of dust collected on the blades and hanging off of them, food was still on the back of the kitchen chairs, etc. I would suggest the Management Company find a new cleaner. Otherwise, the house is amazing.
