Fall Break Trip for Grandson & Family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fall Break trip for 14 year old. He loved fishing off the dock. Great for low key stay. Unit needs a hair dryer, but otherwise was equipped as expected. GCR responded super to need for back door fix.

The beds were a little worn out and very soft. We had an electrical issue but the rental company help provide a work around. We would definitely rent this home again.

Incredible Week at IR House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There are so many great things to say about IR House, but hands down the location, the layout and the Inlet views were just perfect! The home is well appointed and we were able to take our boat and keep at the private dock for the week. The house is literally across the street from a beach access point so that was wonderful as well. Although the house is older, don't let that fool you. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained and did I mention the LOCATION? :-) We are planning to rebook for next year!

A very hot July Week

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival the GCR inspector said that several TV remotes were missing and would be replaced. Never heard anything about that. We did without. The door codes didn't work so we contacted GCR and they were able to reprogram the codes remotely. Very professional maintenance department. We were surprised to find a King Bed in one room so the listing hasn't been updated for that upgrade. Bedrooms have AC window units and central air and some were still uncomfortably warm. Outdoor grill and some of the deck furniture needs to be replaced. Very pleased that linens were provided. A downstairs ice maker would be a great addition. Beach access and dock/inlet access was awesome.

Reviewer Comments: HAVE RENTED THE HOUSE FOR YEARS ALL WAS NORMAL AS EXPECTED ...EXCEPT...5 COUPLES STAY THERE W/ ONLY ONE TRASH CAN...THAT GOT FILLED ALMOST EVERY DAY....WE HAD TO HAUL OFF TRASH OURSELVES AND DUMP INTO OTHERS TRASH CANS ( DUMPSTERS ) WHICH WE SHOULD NOT NEED TO.....OR RISK GETTING CAUGHT...WE TRIED TO JUST LEAVE ALONG THE ROAD AND THE ANIMALS TORE THE BAGS OPEN WHICH WE CLEANED UP......GRRRR NOT A PLEASANT CHORE TO DO MORE THAN ONCE !THIS HAS US CONSIDERING RENTING ANOTHER PLACE .....CALL MANANGEMENT AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD BE RIGHT THERE FOR TRASH THEN CALLED BACK AND TOLD TOMORROW TRASH WOULD BE COLLECTED....

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was recommended after our original reservation was unavailable due to Hurricane Ian. It was a perfect fit for our vacation! It was extremely convenient to the beach, and we loved the fishing in the inlet from the dock out back. Grocery stores and other shopping were very close by also making our week wonderful.

Wonderful Beach Trip!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first year staying in the Ir house in Garden City and we loved it! We had 11 people and it was plenty of room for us all! The front and back decks were fantastic and I was able to even sit out during a rain storm under the tin roof section! The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean! And the beach access and inlet were wonderful!!

Perfect for everyone

My two sons ages 20 and 18 wanted a marsh front home so they could use the john boat and fish. I love the beach and the ocean so it was great for me too! My boys were able to have their own space downstairs with two bedrooms, a bath, and a kitchenette, and my husband and I were upstairs with plenty of room for company. The living area is very spacious and we enjoyed the sunroom when it was chilly. The outdoor decks were just great too. The area under the house is very open and there is plenty of parking. We will definitely vacation here again. Also, check in and checking out was a breeze.

Then sitting on the deck and down by the inlet in the evening was pure calmness! We loved this house and will definitely be staying again.

Everything was clean when we arrived and the kitchen had everything we needed....including a crock pot! The family room was very large and our granddaughters had plenty of room to practice and perform their dances. The sunset was perfect over the inlet every evening and the sunrise was beautiful from the front porch. The dock was easy to access for our boat and we had a grand time catching crabs.....plenty to eat. We loved the glass sunroom on the back. We had one small maintenance issue and it was taken care of very quickly. We have already reserved this house for next summer! It was so nice not to have to share bathrooms. The mattresses were the only down of the trip. Next year we will purchase egg crate toppers if they have not been upgraded. It was the perfect house for us, our children, and grandchildren.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My extended family and I had a great time here. We had ages ranging from 4-79, and everyone loved it, though the stairs were hard on some of them. All living areas are on the upper level, as is typical of the area. The older teens loved the ground level rooms with easy access to the outdoors.We usually stay closer to the pier, but moved south in search of better fishing. We were not disappointed- plenty of crab, a flounder and a few others. We rented kayaks which we were able to use straight from the dock and the beach this far south is less crowded. Beach access is right across the street and very convenient. It was my in-laws' first time visiting, and she loved watching the inlet in the mornings. (Honestly, one of my favorite things, as well.) We had fantastic views of the inlet, and also an ok view of the ocean on the other side. The kitchen was in great shape and well stocked, there were ceiling fans everywhere and room AC units in some areas, as well as overall AC. On a hot week, we were very comfortable. The living room furniture was not super comfortable- low chairs and such. The beds were old and creaky, but we slept better than expected. The covered outdoor area (under the house) was fantastic, with plenty of tables in the shade. I would absolutely stay here again. If you haven't been to Garden City before- I'd recommend a golf cart so you can have easy access to everything up by the pier (where all the excitement happens)and a life jacket for any little one who will be near the dock. It's deep and there is a current. The only complaint I had was the lack of extra blankets. They provided plenty of towels and sheets. However, the futon came with sheets but no actual blanket. My dad in law needs to sleep in a recliner and we had trouble finding a blanket for him to use. All in all, a great place with good fishing.

Dangerous beds

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The bunk beds have no rails. My 4 year old granddaughter fell off the top bunk. We spent that day seeing a dr. and getting x=rays. The next day she had to stay out of the sun and water. So we missed 2 days of our vacation. I had travel insurance. Will that pay for medical expenses and 2 missed vacation days?

The only suggestions I could make to improve the property and our stay would be to add wifi and clear room in the kitchen to provide a pantry.

I didnt pay attention to that detail before I booked and probably would not have booked this unit due to that. We loved the location and other amenities.
