Review- Ocean Townes Unit 1 August 2024

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Easy of securing rental & beach gear was great! Proximity & location to the beach was exceptional.Property condition was ok. Linens, comforters/shams, & couches stained— did not look clean. Home did not smell great when we arrived.Cleanliness of property: appeared that rental was ‘lightly cleaned’. Garbage cans within home were not emptied (garbage on 2nd floor overflowing with feminine care product's, floors were not clean (hair, sand, dirt)- noticeable. Linens, comforter, & shams needed to be washed prior to use. Do to being on the beach would still recommend- just be prepared to do cleaning the day of your arrival.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great townhouse for our family vacation. It was as described, well-stocked and clean. There was lots of storage, which came in handy. Each deck had beautiful views of the beach, and the location was convenient. My only tiny nitpick is there was no outdoor hose or shower to clean off the cooler/equipment.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the set up and furnishings. It fix our needs and we were right at the entry to the beach. Unit was very nice and very well stocked. Parking was hard as there is only room for one vehicle. The unit has been knocked off it foundation and is lopsided in several areas that can make you trip.Lastly, the beach and sanitation crews came almost every morning before dawn making a lot of noise with their large vehicles and back up warning sounds and lights. Woke everyone up just about every morning!!

We all fell in love with the bottom porch with its swing and the top deck with its rocking chairs. The bottom porch turned into “the gathering place”. The view was amazing. Would highly recommend.

The back balcony overlooks the beach and is shaded most of the day.

Great House- Beach Service Ruined it!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is AWESOME! It was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. This was our second stay. We chose this house because of it's proximity to the ocean. HOWEVER, beach service has ruined it. You can no longer sit on the beach in front of the house. Beach Service has made a ten umbrella, 20 chair wall down the beach. You are not allowed to put your umbrella in front of beach service. When you sit behind them you can not get through their set-up or see the ocean (UNSAFE- you can't see your kids in the water or get to them in an emergency). To make matters worse- the police were called on two different days because the Beach Service employee was throwing chairs and using expletives (the F word). The lifeguard had to get between people fighting with the beach service people. This is NO LONGER A FAMILY BEACH. You are not beach front. Daily cursing fights, throwing chairs, police involvement. Everyone is CRAMMED into the small space in front of the Reflections building because it's the only free area on the beach. AND- MOST, if not all, of the beach service chairs are empty. SO disappointed! Great house- but we won't be back. I can stay somewhere cheaper if I'm going to see fights, cursing and have to drag my stuff half a mile down the beach looking for a spot to sit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Oceanfront townhome had a great view. Would not stay there again. It is right on a public parking area. Everyone came and sat right on top of you during your stay. I had to kill 3” roaches all week and they even got in my truck some way. We ended up leaving on Friday because we were ready to leave. Definitely not worth $3000 for a week. I even called and emailed about the roaches and never got a call back. My truck even got broken into on Thursday night.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was nicely updated and plenty of space. The 2 porches were a lot of fun where we could see fireworks for miles. Our only issue was cooking utensils and pans as there were no big skillets and minimal utensils. When TS Elsa came through the rain poured in the sliding glass doors causing a need to have towels placed to catch the water. Otherwise was a nice place to stay.

The unit was clean, well stocked with necessities for cooking, had a nice washer/dryer, lots of games/movies, and the location was PERFECT!! We were a very short distance to the pier, less than a 5 minute drive to the highway, and right on the beach!! The porch quickly became our favorite gathering spot. We had most of our meals at the table there. My mom especially enjoyed the porch swing every morning and night. The area was very family and kid/teenage friendly. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Great location/unit needs a lot of work

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After driving 13 hours we would like to check in with no issues but that didn’t happen. The keyless entry continued to lock us out so as the day past away someone had to hang out waiting on repair man to come. After two visits and unable to fix it he had to install a key entry all on our time! Hours into our vacation. Also the unit has no rugs and was filthy with sand, even on the table. When the cleaning lady came she said they only do a deep clean at beginning of the season. This place is dirty. The woodwork has black hand marks and looks like it hasn’t been wiped in years. The only carpet is up the stairs and it is black from dirt. We put on socks and they were black immediately. The cleaning lady said they aren’t given a mop so the floors aren’t mopped. I could go on and on but simply you should be embarrassed to charge for cleaning cause this was not cleaned at all!!! The only thing going for this unit is location. Also you only get 1 parking pass so you must park your car 1.4 miles away. This is not mentioned in your agreement til after you sign the contract. The one parking spot is flooded and nasty mud and gunk all in the one spot you get, so every time you get out of your car your stepping in gunk! It’s also right beside a public port a potty so you walk down steps to come face to face with strangers and stepping in gunk! Nasty! The realty company just says sorry but that’s not helping if your aware of problems and do nothing. I would not recommend this unit to anyone!

Beautiful Oceanfront View

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: They best part of this townhome is the oceanfront view and oceanfront access. Having 2 patios to relax on was amazing, we dined almost every night on the lower balcony with the spacious table. Steps from the beach it was so easy to get to and from and not have to carry a ton of beach gear. Location was nice and everyone was so friendly. Now the cons: it wasn't as clean as we thought it should be considering what the covid 19 cleaning precautions we viewed on their website. Light switches were dirty and had smudges still on them. The bed in master BR had sand on it and even with our own bedding we could feel it. So we took the mattress cover off and shook out the sand and cleaned the cover in the washing machine. One patio door did not open at all in master BR we called service and it was never fixed. Im glad I travel with my own cleaning supplies because I did do a lot of wiping down and cleaning just so we would be comfortable.But it was still an amazing time on the beach and we loved the area and will be back.

The person I connected with was professional , but not friendly at all. We would ultimately come back. Very nice rental!
