Unanticipated Challenges
Our stay in Myrtle Beach was not without some challenges.
The host was professional and courteous however some very important items were not disclosed during the booking process or room description.
The unit seemed to be recently renovated and nicely appointed. Our issue was with the humidity and mold in the room. The front main door did not seal due to rust on the bottom on the metal frame. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling panels above the shower. There was also a de-humidifier in the room which needed to be changed daily. For a child with breathing issues, this was incredibly frustrating.
The second issue was parking. No where in the literature did it specify that the parking garage was a max height of 6.8'. Our vehicle would not fit in the parking garage and there was no overnight parking outside of the garages. I had to parking our vehicle offsite and walk thru a not so pleasant area to get back to the hotel.
Because of these two items, we had to find other accommodations for the final night in Myrtle Beach.
The host did offer to send a handyman out to the property however that would not have alleviated the respiratory or parking issues.
We did not ask for a partial reimbursement for the last night but considering the circumstances, it would have been a very fair gesture from the host.
