We had such high hopes for this stay. The pictures on Vrbo looked great. The listing was exactly what we needed. The reviews looked good.But the reality? Not so good.The floors were dirty. The pot in the cabinet had food in it. There was no toaster.As this was to be a working vacation, wifi was important. They advertised high speed internet and wifi under “essentials” so it seemed perfect.But there was no wifi in the unit. We could access the public wifi in the hallway, but not in the unit. No wifi meant no work, no tv (Netflix, streaming etc) and we would have to turn on our data which meant roaming fees to check email while away.When we contacted the host, we were told it isn’t their problem because the wifi is public. We were directed to the front desk. When we went to the front desk, we were told it wasn’t their problem because we rented from the homeowner through VRBO. When we contacted VRBO, we were told that wifi is not an essential service in a unit so they wouldn’t move us to another property (but an improperly working hot tub would be essential and one would be moved for that.) no one would take responsibility.The homeowners suggested we just use our cellular data. Then they suggested we contact tech support for the internet company used by the building and wait to see if they would fix it.No thanks. We left after one day (of a 6 day stay) and found another place where we could work and play.Don’t stay here. They won’t help you when things go wrong.
