Beautiful home! Looks exactly like the photos. Loved the availability of the hot tub and the pool, though we didn’t choose to access the pool. Appreciated that towels and linens were provided as well as a starter kit of dishwashing soap, lotion, and body wash. The suitcase holder were another pleasant bonus. Plenty of cool places to eat and explore.

Great Beach Stay!

This was our first time in OBX and we will certainly be back. The VRBO was just what we had hoped - modern and in a great location near the beach and amenities, yet tucked away. There were some minor issues with cleanliness - used napkins and cheetos sitting in the window sill, plus the dishes were obviously dirty, but put away from the dishwasher anyway. Despite this we had a wonderful time and especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Great getaway!

The cottage is absolutely darling with great new appliances and a well appointed kitchen. Plenty of space to spread out and for kids of various ages. Very easy close walk to the beach and close to so many great things to do and places to eat and see. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Cottage, Great Location!!

We went to Bodie Island Cottage for a girls getaway, and it was wonderful!! I'm really picky and thought it was so clean and in such a great location. The whole Haven on the Banks area is beautiful. The vaulted ceilings make it feel open and spacious. Comfortable beds and furniture. Everything we needed was there. Really, the ideal vacation cottage. Quick and easy walk to the beach. We appreciated Tara's quick responses to our questions. I hope to make it back !!

A great place with a few things to know

We loved staying at this beach cottage. Tara had stocked the home very nicely, with all the towels and kitchen items you might need, as well as some cute toiletry bags, and enough dishwasher liquid and laundry detergent to get us through our stay. The house itself was a lovely little gem. It had multiple private balconies, so if the main living area felt too small we just went outside in the gorgeous weather. The kitchen has a big eat in island, though there is no dining table--just something to know if you have a big party coming in. We didn't have any issues eating at the island. The house also has a great outdoor shower for getting off sand, and hose for hosing off boards, water shoes etc. Just really well designed all around. The parking is plentiful and easy to get in and out of. A couple more things to know is that while the cottage is situated very close to the beach, the actual access is a bit of a walk. This is totally fine for most folks, but if you have an older parent with you, it can be a bit of a hike, so good to keep in mind. The only thing that was a little frustrating was the early checkout at 10 am. Most places I've stayed have 11 am or 12 pm checkout. I totally understand that when you have folks staying in back to back visits, you need to get cleaners in and out quickly. But an extra hour would have been helpful in the morning. This is however, a really tiny thing compared to how great the house was. We'd definitely stay again!

Friend vacation with our kiddos

Loved, loved, loved this property! Only downside was the walk to the beach but it really wasn’t that far. It was more about kids complaining of hot sand on their feet versus the length of the walk. That would’ve happened no matter where we stayed and walked from. All of the small things made this property great. There was an awesome welcome basket with local products!

Perfect escape

We just finished a fantastic week at Bodie Island Cottage at Haven on the Banks. Everything was perfect - the cottage was exceptionally well appointed with everything we needed, and the house was spacious and comfortable. The outside shower and house were perfect for wrapping up a day at the beach, and the pool was clean and wonderful. Tara was great at being in touch before and during and was really responsive. We would love to come back again one day!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

We had an amazing week at Haven on the Banks. The Bodie cottage was as pictured on the website. Very well appointed, clean and comfortable. More than enough room for our party of nine. The Pool and property are also very clean and well kept. The property is a very short walk to the beach and it was nice to come back and enjoy the pool. We would most certainly come and stay again.

Heaven on the BANKS!!

We LOVED our time in Bodie Cottage at Haven on the Banks! It's new and clean and the location was perfect. Tara even took the time to come by and meet us all! The kitchen was perfectly supplied with everything we needed to cook our meals and the starter packs of basics was perfect. The walk to the beach was easy and we enjoyed being at the property quite a bit as well which included hot-tubbing, a little time in the pool and quite a few games of corn hole! The accommodations were perfect for our 2 families and many card games were played around the island. Tara was always quick to respond when we asked for recommendations for ice cream, seafood and no miss things to do! 10 out of 10 of us would HIGHLY recommend this property!!!! Great job Tara and Gerry!!!!

Great experience!

We had a wonderful time at this home! It was a great set up, the pool was beautiful and the home was so well stocked with cooking equipment, towels, and everything we needed for our stay! Highly recommend!
