Thank you Jennifer! I am glad that you enjoyed Pepper's Cottage. I wish that you would have called us about the walkway to the beach because there is a public beach access right behind the house that has a handicap ramp that you could have used. Pepper's Cottage is in the Laughing Gull community and an HOA is responsible for the stairs that are supposed to go over the dune and they have not keep it up for over 4 years now. There is also lights that light up the sign that says Laughing Gull Cottages right at the road and this is the first time that I am hearing that someone couldn't find the driveway because you can see this sign from a mile away. The whole road is pitch black almost and the town of Nags Head and some resident's do not want anyone to light it up(to put streets light up) so we have been finding other ways to light up the driveways. But if there is a light out on the sign please let me know so I can tell the HOA and they can fix it. I do hope that you come back and see us again. I am sorry that we could not do a late check out for you. We do not sell late check out's (they are free if we can do them) but the reason why we couldn't give you one is because housekeeping was waiting for you to leave so they could get the house ready for the guest that was checking in the same day that you checked out. When it is a "flip" like that I can not allow a late check out. We try to get our customer's in as fast as possible. If their was no one coming in after you then I could have let you checked out later. For that I am sorry.

Hello Susan, We have completely flipped this house inside and we have redone the outside porch. This house has all new furniture. I am not sure why you thought that this cottage was not just one room because if you were to look at the floor plan that is in the pictures you would have seen that but it's ok. People miss little details all the time. I have also made it more known by putting that in the description of the house. I also update the pictures every year so our customer's can see what the house actually looks like vs. what people want you to think it looks like. You should come back and take a look at what we have done.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! We do have plans to update the kitchen. The kitchen will be 100% updated. We did have a screen door but customer's were not making sure that the door was closed or closing during high winds. Which high winds happens a lot around here. From January 2021 to April 2021 we had already gone through 4 screen doors so we made the decision to just not have one. I do need to order more knives sharpeners to keep in the house's. We just moved the outside shower from the front of the house to the side and ran out of time to put the water house spout on. We will be finishing that when we have the house shut down for the kitchen remodel. We do hope that you come back and see us again once we make all of these updates.

We do apologize about these issues that you had during your stay. We have already replaced the fridge. During your stay we were still waiting for the fridge. It was on back order and was not in yet. When we replaced the deck we ran out of time to paint the outside of the house and deck. We only had a couple of days to do the deck replacement before the next guest arrived. With Pepper's Cottage it stay's booked year around with people coming and going so we get very little time to do anything to the cottage. I am not sure where the ant problem comes in, because they didn't show up until your 4th day and the guest that arrived the same day that you left said nothing about ants. We do have ant traps and spray our house's monthly because this is the Outer Banks and Yes, there is ants and bugs that can and will get into the cleanest homes. Even with all of these issues we do hope that you still had a great time here on the Outer Banks.

We are glad that you enjoyed the cottage. We are sorry about the house next to you. They never should have asked you to move your car. They also should of told us that they were still going to be working on the house during your stay. Laughing Gull #9 was under a lot of pressure to get that house back in shape and she still has more work that she has to do to the crow's nest and back deck at the end of this season. So we do apologize about all of that.

The Laughing Gull Cottages has a dumpster on the North side of Cottage #1. There is even a sign that the HOA put up giving you an arrow on where to go. We have instructions on where to put your trash as well, or you could have called us. The town of Nags Head took out all of the trash cans and put in the dumpster because there are so many houses for that one address.
