The location was beautiful, right on the lake. We enjoyed hearing and watching the loons from the screened in porch or the dock. You can even see the Milky Way at night from the dock.
There were several hiking trails close by and also less than an hour from town and supermarkets.
The lake house is a quintessential Maine camp- comfy, but rough around the edges. The kitchen has all the equipment that you need to cook, and my daughter even made my cousin a birthday cake.
However, The decor hasn’t been updated since 1975, except for the TV and WiFi. My daughter couldn’t sleep in the middle bedroom with the noisy hot water heater and moldy window AC unit in the closet, so she slept on the futon in the living room.
When I first opened the door, the strong scent of Pine Sol bowled me over. I always use up scented cleaning products, so the first thing we did was to open all the windows and turn on the fans to air out the house.
Then the shower door fell off the hinges every time you opened it. We were told the owner was going to fix it, but not before we left.
