Great Relaxing Waterfront

This was an absolutely nice relaxing place. The owner had fishing rods and nice outside bar. It was spotless and the owner was very helpful. You can ride to the city and come back to quiet and calm by the water

Best Family Getaway

What a great oasis—this was the perfect place for our adult family of five to get away from our busy lives. The outdoor spaces are comfortable and there was plenty of things to do without leaving the property. Excellent restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive meant we only went into the city once. Rick is a perfect host, communicating regularly and responding quickly. We would stay here again!

Summer vacation

House and all the amenities were wonderful, grandkids were happy to stay home instead of sight seeing. We actually caught fish in the bayou. Would highlly recommend this place.

The best place ever to stay

Me my husband and 15 year old son had to come to Slidell for me to have a surgery. This place was literally the best place to stay ever. It had so much room, was incredibly clean. There was a swimming pool, pool table and movie area that beyond amazing. We had the best time and the owner was quick to reply if I had any questions. It made my recovery awesome I was able to fish, swim, play pool, play darts. Listen to music or watch tv I just can’t say enough about how awesome this place is. You get a lot for the price !!! I would rent over and over again !!!!

Amazing house

This house is a vacation heaven. We enjoyed it very much. Morning coffee by the water was so relaxing. We fished, swam in the pool, played games, explored Slidel, went to lake Pontchartrain and swamps. There is so much to do in the area and the house was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much, Rick for sharing your house with us. Loved every minute of it!

New Orleans Visit

We had a wonderful visit. The pool and game rooms were great fun. The house was very clean and comfortable. Rick gave us advice on local restaurants and clubs. We highly recommend this rental.

Family get together in old neighborhood

We used to live across the bayou and this was the perfect place for us! So convenient to our old stomping grounds and friends! The outdoor area downstairs is the perfect place to visit and we all had a great time! I would definitely stay here again!

Cajun Paradise!

This place is spectacular and Rick is the best! I highly recommend staying here! We did 11 days and had amazing food, experienced the Slidell Mardi Gras parades, swam in the pool, played pool almost every day, and experienced many other adventures too numerous to list here not to mention hanging out in the Quarter in N’awlins, which frankly was not even necessary to call this trip a success. Thanx Rick! Can’t wait to book this place again!!

Great heated pool for the family. Quiet location. Friendly neighbors. Close to train tracks but not disruptive. Only issue was projection TV was dependent upon wifi and so only saw 1/3 of any program regardless of channel. Host gave us tips but they were short-lived. Enjoyed our stay.

Highly Overpriced!

Not worth the price at all. The house needs a manual to operate TVs, surround sound, air/heat thermostat, and pool heater. House temp was 81 upon arrival. Even after setting thermostat to 60, it would mysteriously go to 65 as if being controlled remotely. Temp in house never got below a stagnant 71; no ceiling fans in inside areas (bedroom & outside only) Downstairs 'theater' did not have any cable/DVD/Roku; completely useless. Host said it was only used for his kid's XBox. Since projector is mounted to ceiling, hooking up my nephew's PS4 was very difficult as long cords were required for HDMI and power supply. Even then, we couldn't get sound and picture quality was horrible. Insufficient lighting over shuffleboard; couldn't see to play. Pool is a kiddie pool; very shallow and not that big (picture showed basketball net for pool play but was not there.) Pool was extremely cold upon arrival. After several complaints & pool guy making adjustments, it still felt about 60-65 at most. Grill in pictures was also not available (host offered $100 towards the purchase of more suitable grill {certainly not like the rather expensive one pictured} but better than the pathetic portable one provided. Not wanting to spend my vacation assembling a grill (with no tools,) we agreed on an extra night's stay; no charge. Host should mention the train tracks that are located just across the road; very noisy, especially at night. Days after checking out, the host asks if we removed inventory (alcohol) from a mini fridge in the kitchen area. Didn't appreciate the accusation, and regretted not taking photos of 'house inventory' upon arrival & departure. Good fishing (catfish, bream, gar, turtles,) great mattresses & awesome pool table. Terrible stay overall for what we paid. Will NEVER stay there again!

What a fabulous property, the pictures don’t do it justice!

We spent thanksgiving here with outlet family of 7 and had more than enough room and space. The downstairs is a super fun party room with lots of games and vibe. The pool was especially nice after a long day sightseeing. Neighborhood is a little iffy, but nothing too bad. Highly recommended this place!!

Bayou Trip

The pictures and descriptions are spot on! Communication with the owner was always helpful and with very little delay. We especially loved just hanging out downstairs and relaxing with our friends. Slidell is a nice community and with some great restaurants. We would definitely recommend this VRBO and would love to go back again at some point.

just what we needed for a family vacation

it was just right for us. We as family living in different states stayed here so we didn't have to go anywhere if we didn't want to. We swam and played pool and games. only went to the grocery store. we visited and played was so much fun. Thank you!

More than we expected and we had a great time

We had a wonderful time at the property. The owner went above and beyond with communication and helping us get settled. It is a unique house located on a quiet canal that gives access to Lake Pontchatrain. A large boat slip is available and only 1.5 miles away from the boat launch and gas. The home is close to EVERYTHING. The neighbors were very nice and overall pretty quiet. The downstairs bar area is awesome. It’s a perfect summer getaway for water sports, swimming, lounging around or whatever you want to do. We will definitely be back!
