My family and I stayed here three nights for a recent trip in March. We chose Newport Beach as it was on the South side of LA (we were coming in from Joshua Tree NP) and wanted a place in easy driving distance to Disneyland. On those marks, this property met all the metrics. It was super easy to get to and driving to and from Disneyland was no problem.
While we weren't there for the beach, it is a fantastic beach location! The beach is RIGHT there and jogging / biking distance to the Newport pier. Also, it's minutes away from shopping, and importantly a Trader Joes!
The unit itself is really nice and met all our needs (family of four with a 12 & 13 year-old). HUGE tv!, great king bed, and a well appointed kitchen. The living room also comfortably fit four.
Biggest drawback was hearing the neighbors above us. As this is a ground-floor unit, the people walking back and fourth on the floor above could be easily heard. Also, as previous reviewers have mentioned the garage is tiny! Our rented Kia Sorrento fit just fine, but you'd have real trouble fitting a mini van or full size SUV in there. Lastly, communication with rental agency was ok, but involved more logistics than we have typically experienced when using VRBO. It's evident that this is managed by a company rather than an individual home owner as they were very cautious when they would provide the door code. As we were coming in late that night, we wanted to make sure there would be no issues.
