“Exceptional hospitality. Staff were particularly friendly and attentive. Location suited us - not too far from Durham city centre, but particularly convenient for our visits to Beamish and Tanfield Railway. Room was clean and well-appointed. Food was amazing! Superb breakfast with good choice. Dinner menu was unbelievable (not available on Sunday evening. Highly recommended.”

“Había comida estropeada en el frigorífico, que no se podía abrir del olor tan desagradable que despedía. En el lavaplatos había cubiertos y vasos sucios. Detrás de un radiador había colillas. En un apartamento para cuatro sólo había dos sillas, y el sofá está completamente hundido. Nos dieron la llave del apartamento equivocada,tuvimos que esperar al responsable casi media hora, de noche y con mucho frío. Llegó riéndose.”

“Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). The room was very clean and beautiful inside and the small window behind the bed overlooked the forest behind which was beautiful. Overall very quiet, the only bit of noise is people walking to and from their rooms as they are so close together but we was so tired we eventually...

“Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them. On the hole, everything else was excellent. There was no recycling facilities, which was quite a surprise, and also a slight disappointment. Everything else was above...
