We were hoping for a weekend getaway offseason just to relax and have some quiet, but this was one of the worst nights I've ever had with my kids crying, everyone freezing and ending up sick. We left 1st thing in the morning and booked a hotel for the rest of our trip. After 2 weeks of continuous contact with the host, we still have not been reimbursed.There was no heat, no hot water, a rotting pizza in the oven, dirt and debris on the floors (socks, fruit pouch, wrappers, hair, etc), sand in the sheets, stains/hair/dirt on the bedding, miscellaneous substances on the walls, open closets filled with miscellaneous junk, and broken banisters on the deck. It is clear that the host is not actually involved and relying on their "team", who aren't actually invested in the quality of stay. I would be surprised if anyone did a walkthrough after the last guest.Despite being near freezing, the window was left open without a screen so the apartment was freezing. We shut the window and realized that the heat wasn't kicking on even though it was only 52F, but felt colder. Shortly after shutting the window an awful smell filled the apartment, which we traced back to the oven, which had a rotting pizza in it. The kids wanted to warm up with a hot shower and found that the hot water didn't work either. We notified the host and they said they would have their team address it. This never happened and we spent the night freezing in a filthy house, waking up sick and exhausted.
