Loved iy

The place is great. Looked just like the advertisrment on VRBO. So many great places to see and restaurants were close by with an excellent choices. Loved the fenced in yard for my dogs. Hot Tub was a plus. I cant wait to come back. 🙂🙂🙂

Friendly cozy beach vacation

The neighborhood was amazing. Made fast friends with both permanent neighbors and vacation neighbors. The fenced in back yard was clean and safe for our dog to enjoy. Home was very well kept everything in great condition. We never had any issues. Beach access a straight short walk right and located right at the life guard station. Phylis was extremely nice, accomadating eager to help in anything we needed and easy to contact. Will definitely love to stay at her homes again.

Adorable Little Cottage

Very cozy cute place. It was great letting our little dog out the back door to the fenced in yard. Beach is just a short walk down the road. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub.

Mermaids would approve

We absolutely loved this home! The color scheme and decor in the home are spot on for a mermaid house. We've stayed at a lot of homes, this one by far had the BEST hot tub! We loved walking down to the beach and enjoy the quiet neighborhood. We'd definitely stay here again! To add: Loggerheads is the most delicious place! Just what we needed during Bike Week!

We stayed at the Mermaid house for a few days during bike week and Phyllis was so accommodating and thoughtful. She checked in with us each day and gave great suggestions for some scenic routes to ride and restaurants to try. The house was perfect and we especially loved the hottub and extra parking for our sprinter van. The beds were super comfy and the carport area with rocking chairs was a great place to gather and enjoy the outdoors! We will definitely come back!

Mermaid House

Phyllis is a great host! The location was excellent and perfect for our 2 small dogs with the fenced in backyard. The Mermaid House is very clean in a wonderful neighborhood and we will be back.

Great stay

We really enjoyed the property. Check-in was made simple and easy by Phyllis. The house had everything that we needed and was right down the street from the beach access. The hot tub came in handy since we were there over the holiday break and experienced some milder temperatures. definitely will return.

Run down property with a broken toilet and sink

The first night we came, the toilet and sink was broken. The owner repaired the toilet at noon the following day. The sink was never repaired. The hall property is very old and it’s not maintained well. The dining room does not have air conditioning, so we could not use it as the air was very staffy there.

Great location and great stay

We were searching for a beach over spring break where we could have a nice relaxing vacation with our family (including our 10 year old daughter, pooch, and guinea pigs). We were lucky to come across this property! It's in a great location at Ormand By The Sea, and is less than a block away from the beach. Laurie Drive is a really nice street with very friendly folks who live there. The house is about a block (or less) away from the beach (which has a lifeguard on duty), and the other side of the street gets you to the public access dock/ramp to the bay where you can go kayaking or paddle boarding. The house is super cozy with two queen size beds, and a nice size kitchen and eating area. The living room and patio area are really nice to stretch out and relax with family. The backyard is fenced and perfect for a pet, and the hot tub in the backyard is a great way to relax and unwind after a busy day at the beach. There are no TV's in the house, although there is wifi if you want to connect to TV/streaming through your devices. But I have to say (even though we had a 10 year old) it was quite liberating to not be attached to a TV. It allowed for the family to spend more quality time together and really detach from the day to day routine. Within walking distance is a Dollar General for your basic supplies, and the Publix, Dollar Tree, and several restaurants and other shops are a 3 minute drive away. Ormond Beach and all of the retail/restaurants are less than a 10 minute drive away. And if you want to go to Daytona it's about a 20 minute drive south. Phyllis is a terrific host. We touched based with her almost daily as she's always around and making sure her properties are all top notch. She was super accessible and helpful (if we needed something she was quick to guide us in the right direction or help supply us with what we needed). There was one day where I had a bit of a snafu, and she even helped me figure out how to get to an urgent care to get myself squared away. She was great with my family and my daughter; truly enjoyed working with her! This stay was terrific (and I suspect any stay in a house managed by Phyllis will be terrific). Highly highly recommend!

Mermaid House

Quaint property perfect for the stress free getaway. Just a few steps to enjoy sunrise every morning and a few steps to the river to enjoy sunsets. Friendly atmosphere and pet friendly. Phylis the owner has done a fabalous job in creating the perfect home to relax and get away from it all and enjoy the beach experience. The hot tub was a plus to relax and unwind at night. Highly recommend!

Cute house with all the comforts of home!

Great little beach cottage. Was perfect for our stay, yard was wonderful for the dogs. Location was fantastic. Walking distance to beach and a nice park. Close to grocery store and restaurants. Nice peaceful neighborhood.

Quick stop at the Mermaid House

We so enjoyed our stay at Mermaid House! The cleanliness, splashes of color, proximity to the beach (and oh, that hot tub), were instantly inviting. Ours was a short stay whilst traveling further south, but it was so worth it. Big fenced backyard worked well for our furry family member. There is also an off-leash park a mile or so north of the house that is nice. Walks or short drives offered plenty of opportunities for food and drink. The beach was 2 blocks (or less) away on a straight walk out of the neighborhood. Great location

The house was just as advertised, super close to the beach. Nice “beachy” feel throughout. It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our fur baby. Phyllis was great at accommodating us with our check in date and letting us extend our stay. I also just want to say how much I appreciate the fact that she does allow dogs. It’s VERY hard to find a nice house with a fenced in yard that will allow a dog over 10lbs. My dog loved going for walks along the main strip everyday and loved to try to chase the squirrels in the backyard. Having a hot tub is also a major perk. Publix is less than a mile away for everything you need. I would recommend Phyllis to anyone as she was wonderful to work with. Thank you for a great stay!!

Very nice

Cute house close to the beach

We enjoyed our stay very much. Great location just a short walk from the beach. Got a great deal renting some boogie boards from Bill at the rental shop at the end of the same street. Got up and watched the sunrise from the beachside park as well.

Perfect beach spot for family with dogs

This place is a hidden gem right down the street from the beach

Our experience with this property was stellar. Fence then backyard which allowed us to bring our dogs, screened in patio with a jacuzzi and a 5-minute walk to the beach. Close by shopping and restaurants as well. I definitely recommend staying here. I definitely will book again.

Relaxing Vacation

The Mermaid House is Fantastic! 9 days of relaxing and doing whatever we wanted. The beach is within walking distance for great sunrises and the river is within walking distance for great sunsets. We spent most of our time relaxing in the house watching movies (we brought our own tv) or hanging out in the hot tub. Thank You So Much!

A get away with wife and our dogs

We decided we needed a vacation, we never took a honeymoon and my wife’s father passed away after living with us for 8 months. This was perfect for us since we have 2 dogs, the house has a fenced in backyard. The host was awesome we got in earlier then plan and asked if could get in earlier and she made that happen, that is a big thing for us since we had our dogs and it was very warm out, and we were exhausted from the drive. She checked in and seen if we needed anything almost everyday. I would Recommend this property. The house was neat and tidy, yes there is no TV but there is things to do other then that so it was not a bother to us. We will definitely be going back if allowed in the future.
