Summary:
Welcome to The Dancing Moon, one of the most unique stays in the Fox Valley.
This one-of-a-kind historic home sits in the heart of downtown Oshkosh, a city full of culture, history and things to do for all ages. Explore beautiful parks, catch a show at The Grand, enjoy lakeside dining or visit during EAA AirVenture. The Dancing Moon puts it all within easy reach.
With 4,500 square feet, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and room for up to 12 guests, there's plenty of space for families, groups and anyone who loves historic character.
The Space:
The Dancing Moon was one of the first downtown buildings rebuilt after the 1875 fire that destroyed most of downtown Oshkosh. Step inside and you'll find 4,500 square feet of preserved history paired with modern comforts.
The home is decorated with high-end historic relics and artifacts from across Wisconsin, so every room has something to discover. Four bedrooms sleep up to 12 guests, and four bathrooms include one with a beautiful claw-foot tub.
The main gathering space is an entertainer's dream, with a bar, plenty of tables and chairs, and extra living areas on the same floor. Your group can come together or break off for a quieter conversation without leaving the room. The spacious kitchen has an industrial stove and oven, and the formal dining room is perfect for sharing meals together.
For quieter moments, the fully stocked library has cozy chairs for reading and relaxing. The kids' wing has extra couches, a 65-inch smart TV, games and a loft, so younger guests have a space of their own.
Whether you're hosting a large group, bringing several families together or simply love historic buildings and character-rich decor, The Dancing Moon is a stay you won't forget.

The entire upper level is yours during your stay, with a private keypad entrance and plenty of off-street parking.
This is a self-check-in property, so you can come and go as you please. Your check-in instructions and personal entry code will come through Breezeway before you arrive.
Please make yourself at home, and respect any locked doors, storage areas or spaces marked private.
The Neighborhood:
Downtown Oshkosh is right outside your door, and it's easy to explore on foot. Known as "Everything But Ordinary," the area is full of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, bars and boutiques, with the waterfront just a short walk away.
Start your morning with coffee at New Moon Cafe, which roasts its own beans, or Elsewhere Market & Coffee House, a coffee shop and gift market in a historic building on Main Street. Planet Perk and Pilora's Cafe are also great spots for breakfast or lunch. For a sweet treat, stop by Caramel Crisp & Café for caramel popcorn and homemade cookies.
When it's time for dinner or drinks, Truffle Pig serves classic Italian food and wood-fired pizza, and the Ruby Owl Tap Room and Water City Pub on Main Street are fun downtown spots to gather. The Howard, a popular event venue, is right next door, which makes this a great place to stay for weddings and celebrations.
On Saturday mornings from late spring through October, the Oshkosh Farmers Market fills North Main Street with local produce, baked goods and crafts. You can also catch a show at the historic Grand Oshkosh, stroll the Riverwalk along the Fox River, or enjoy a summer concert at the Leach Amphitheater, where the river meets Lake Winnebago. The Oshkosh Convention Center is nearby too.
Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are available for trips around Oshkosh and the Fox Valley. It can take longer to get a ride late at night, during big events like AirVenture, or in winter weather, so we suggest booking a little early.
Downtown Oshkosh is very walkable, so restaurants, shops, the waterfront and nightlife are all an easy stroll away. Plenty of off-street parking is available at the property.
Other Things to Note:
The Dancing Moon is on the upper level of a historic building, so guests should be comfortable using stairs.
The home is filled with historic relics, antiques and one-of-a-kind decor. Please enjoy them with care, and keep an eye on children around these pieces.
You're staying in the heart of downtown, so you may sometimes hear normal city sounds, especially on weekends and during events.
Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside. If we find signs of smoking or vaping, a $250 fine will be charged. Please keep noise down for the neighbors, especially after 10:00 PM.
If you notice any damage or maintenance problems, please message us through Breezeway right away so we can fix them.
