I absolutely love this cottage. I have stayed here 3 times and plan to return for a 4th very soon.
Its situated on the side of the hill overlooking Ullswater lake and the fell. Its only a short drive from the M6 and is at a quieter, less touristic lake ( and I think way more beautiful) than somewhere like Windermere.
If you do happen to visit Windemere, you must drive up and over Kirkstone Pass (don't use the M6) as the drive and views are breathtaking.
The little garden with its water features and planting is adorable. I was surrounded by butterflies on my recent August visit. And the view....WOW!!! Sitting with a glass of wine in your hand whilst the sun sets...well...it doesn't get much better than that.
Plenty of wonderful walks or climbs right on your doorstep, too
The cottage itself is lovely. Light, bright, full of character but with a modern touch. I can't put in to words how fabulous this cottage is.
Highly recommend you stay here
