“One hour before my "Free Cancellation" window was set to expire, the property sent a message via the Expedia platform demanding a higher daily room fee. They claimed that the discounted rate—a verified rate for Expedia.ca registered users—had been posted without their approval. Although the property did eventually honor the original rate, the timing of the demand was highly stressful.

“Overall, disappointing. I chose a pricier place for a wedding visit, and this was a letdown. It was basically a glorified motel. The hairdryer was attached to the wall and very cheap. There was no iron in the room. The bedding is tired, and the bathroom needs to be updated. I could hear guests above and below us. It was basically a glorified motel. For $200 a night in Powell River, I expected more. There is no breakfast on site.”

“Kitchen was great. Had microwave, fridge freezer, hotplate, coffee maker and kettle. Even an air fryer. Had everything we needed.
Place was clean and comfortable . I'd give the bed a top rating, slept really well. Although some aspects of the room was a little worn (floor/tub) I think the age of the property and price reflects this, so it wasn't something I would not have expected or was personally bothered by.
