“The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs.”

“Lovely place to stay and in a very good location. It has a lovely aesthetic and there was drinks and cake for guests waiting. I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask. “Beautiful property with tasteful decor and a real homely feel. The car park is a real convenience right beside the hotel. Our room was immaculate and with a very large, very comfortable bed. A gorgeous view of the hills from the window really set the scene. The room also had a bath which was a bonus. Breakfast was delightful and with a good variety of options, including avocado sourdough toast. A brief walk into the centre of Ambleside to the bars and restaurants, not far at all. “It was a great location. We did find the car park a little bit tight and tricky to get into (as the road was fairly busy when we arrived). The cottage was great and had all we were after and the downstairs bathroom was great for my elderly Mum. The two single beds mattresses were a bit past their best so the only thing I’d suggest to improve the property would be an update of those. Otherwise it was a great place to stay right on the river.”

“Lovely historic property- complete with all the quirks such as uneven floors, log burner, and a lovely wooden staircase. Great location to get into town too, and really quiet and peaceful at night. I had a lovely break here with my partner, felt like a proper escape.”
