We enjoyed our stay at Deer Haven. There was an issue with the gas stove but we were able to get it resolved fairly quickly without it causing a damper to our trip. The cabin was well maintained and the grounds peaceful. We spent most nights around the firepit. We definitely will be back!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was fitting for us all. Amenities were great. Had everything we needed for cooking. Only tid bit was the bugs downstairs bedroom area and the ants in the upstairs bedroom area.

BEAUTIFUL!

We absolutely adored Deer Haven! The environment was superb! We loved watching the horses on the hill in their pasture, listening to the chirping of the frogs and a deer or bunny always crossed our path! Deer Haven is a wonderful place to unwind and relax after a hot horse show day!

Peaceful Paradise

The whole experience at the cabin was picture perfect! It had everything to make our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The wrap around porch is where we spent a lot of our time taking in the beautiful scenery and relaxing with friends and family. We saw tons of humming birds, turtles, frogs and other wildlife! The cabin was pristine. It was definitely big enough for our large group. It was only about 30 mins to Lake Lure/Chimney Rock. We would absolutely come back again!!

Private get away

We had 6 college friends that had not been all together in over 35 years! The house was large enough to sleep all of us comfortably. The only challenge was not having a dining space for the six of us. We enjoyed the fire pit our first night before the rain set in. We experienced a lot of rain and a short 6 hour power outage so the front porch was thoroughly enjoyed. Our only suggestions would be candles or lanterns, just in case, and wine glasses!

Pure Serenity

We stayed three nights at this beautiful and rustic property that was absolutely spotless, well equipped, charming and comfortable! The property is gorgeous with Mountain View’s, Rustic Charm, and sounds of babbling creeks and a cute pond! Horses add to the ambiance. The cabin is big, we’ll decorated and appointed. Comfy beds, nice finishings. We absolutely loved sitting on the covered wrap around porch, looking out over the property to the mountains. Quiet and deeply relaxing. 10/10

Peaceful New Year's Getaway

Private location with beautiful grounds and wonderful cabin. We enjoyed ringing in the New Year with our children at this cute cabin. It was clean and well kept inside. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and were stocked with linens, towels and laundry supplies. The washer and dryer came in handy to keep hiking clothes clean. We also enjoyed meeting the horses and hiking around the creek. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Thanksgiving family get-away

This was an amazing cabin and property. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed wandering the property, sitting by the fire pit and just hanging out together. Would rent this lovely place again.

Wonderful secluded cabin

Our stay was the perfect getaway from our city life. We couldn’t see any neighbors from the cabin or driveway, even in the fall after the trees lost their leaves. You pass a pasture with a few horses as you drive down the driveway to the cabin. Someone comes onto the property a few times a day to tend to the horses. They stay pretty far away and they don’t come up to the cabin. We loved the wood burning fireplace, as well as the outdoor firepit. It was so wonderful to sit around the firepit and hear the trickling of water in the background and the horses off in the distance. There are some flat stones and logs to sit on around the firepit, but I suggest bringing your own foldup chairs if you plan to relax for a while and soak in the nature around you. The house was very clean. There is good lighting around the entire cabin, which came in useful when we were outside at night. Note that there are outdoor cameras surrounding the cabin. The cabin is hard to find (especially at night), but you can see it from the road. It is on the outside turn of a very sharp curve in the road. Google maps took us several miles past the cabin. Just pay attention other’s property addresses along the street and you’ll be able to find the cabin.

Beautiful property

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Deer Haven. The location was gorgeous and we loved walking around the property seeing the changing leaves, small stream, and local flowers/vegetation. The house was very spacious and coffee on the beautiful wrap around porch was a highlight of our weekend. We had everything we needed while staying here. I highly recommend this rental and will definitely stay here again in the future!

Up North Get away

Will definitely stay again, it was great. I will give a few suggestions that would make everyone’s stay better. Maybe a pool table, ping pong table or foosball table down the basement. The living room was beautiful but there were no drapes or blinds so it was spooky knowing someone could be watching.

USPC Championships trip

We stayed at Deer Haven while competing at USPC championships at Tryon International Equestrian Center. Location was not too far out of the way. House was clean. Rooms were as expected. Everyone enjoyed the pond and fire pit. We will be keeping it on our list for future trips to TIEC.
