Perfect for a weekend visit

I messaged the host a few days before we arrived to get information regarding check in. I needed to call the day of because I had not heard back yet. He could not commmnicate in English and I could not communicate in Spanish. Someone finally responded to my message with the check in I structions. The host was very responsive over the weekend while we were there. The property was perfect for my family of 5. We had difficulty with the hot water in the shower (mentioned in other posts that you can have hot water or shower pressure, but not both). We were 1 minute off of the highway and very convenient. We only needed a place to sleep while visiting family, and this was great for us.

Nicely remodeled but tall.

The lack of landscaping caused me concern as we pulled up but the interior is newly remodeled and nicely done with a bit of a DYI feel. Quality new appliances and shower and thoughtful touches including coffee and popcorn. It would benefit from a woman’s touch. It feels decorated from a checklist but never lived in. It has a rain shower head that’s installed like a spray head. Hot water in the shower is tricky. Everything from the light switches to the kitchen cabinets is installed a few inches higher than normal. At 5’ my spouse could barely reach the microwave. It was clean, convenient and in a good neighborhood. We would stay there again.

Not great

In general, we were disappointed with this stay. The house wasn't cleaned well (items left under beds and behind dressers from prior guests), very limited cleaning supplies, and lack of resources (only two rolls of toilet paper, no paper towels, no laundry detergent, etc). Also, the beds didn't have mattress protectors and were VERY noisy (any time anyone turned over in bed, it would wake everyone in the house). However, the neighborhood was quiet. Parking was easy on the street. Check in was difficult as there were no instructions on VRBO. The contact listed in VRBO messaging did not speak English and had to contact his son who then had to call us back to then be able to give us the code to check. Also, there was no pamphlet in the house with instructions on internet or what to do when checking out, recommendations for the area, etc.

Business trip

The property was very clean. Obviously an older home that was remodeled. We wish it had been stocked better with basic supplies. Washcloths (none) paper towels (0ne or two left on roll). It would have been nice if the guy living I. The back had turned off his lights. The shined directly into the house. At least point them down. Extra blankets would be nice as well. Everything worked and a very quiet neighborhood. With a few changes we would stay again.

Basic Accommodations with Some Challenges

This property is very much a 'you get what you pay for' situation. Communication with the owner was limited—I had to request check-in instructions multiple times, and the response came after the check-in time. The house offers minimal accommodations, and there are some issues future renters may want to be aware of: One of the beds is noticeably sagging and uncomfortable, and all of the beds are very loud, creaking with even the slightest movement. The twin bedroom (which we planned for our kids) has a door leading directly to the outside, which felt less secure. The shower offers either warm water or good water pressure, but not both. The kitchen cabinets and microwave are mounted very high—I'm 5’3” and had difficulty reaching. The dining chairs and couches are cheaply made and may not support heavier individuals. The floors creak and sag in some areas, and the yard is mostly dirt and unkempt. None of the windows have curtains, and one bedroom’s blinds don’t fully cover the window, letting in a lot of light—definitely not ideal for light sleepers. Overall, the home was adequate for our stay, but the condition of the property is below average and might not meet the needs of some travelers

Cute little home

Propery host was awesome! He responded back quick whenever we had a question. House was very cute, and clean. Although the front of home needs work but once you get into the home its very nice!

Think Twice

Property was not clean- we had to go out and get cleaning supplies to clean the kitchen and bathroom (ewww) ourselves. Just because the dishwasher makes noise/appears to be running/working, does not mean it is cleaning. The "clean dishes" put away in the cupboard were evidence of this- there was food all over them. We could tell someone just grabbed the stack from the dishwasher and slid them onto the shelf. We re-washed all the dishes by hand.The sheets were so thin you could see the pillow stains through them. We would have left, but we had 2 dogs and it was graduation weekend so there wasn't anything else available. Also- the photos must be from when the house was purchased- like maybe from the listing because things looks different. Also- the listing says there is a grill, but there was no grill. Someone needs to take care of the yard (front and back) too. Host was not responsive to our feedback. This place has such potential and we hope this host will do better for others and take action on our lengthy feedback, which we have given him over a month to respond to before writing this review. To be honest, we left the house in better condition than how we found it.

House was as shown. Yard could use some work

I was very frustrated with the lack of communication regarding check in. Once we connected, everything went smoothly. Yard could use some work. You can tell it is a work in progress but the weeds could've been whacked down. House itself was great. Loved the shower. Lots of space. BF and son both complained that the mattress was too soft but it was fine for me. We were there for an event. If you need to be in Redlands, I thought it was a perfect location. Price was reasonable for what it was.
