We really enjoyed our week at Ocean Beach. The location was wonderful. Easy walk down to dog Beach with our dogs every day and also an easy walk to downtown for shopping and meals. The house was very comfortable. It is small but exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for the four of us and our two dogs. was nice to sit out in the front yard, which was fenced and then a nice back area as well with the hot tub and a fire table and comfy chairs. We didn't use the additional room out back except for storage of some of our stuff, but it was nice to have the extra room outside that room to hang out. Gabe was very responsive anytime I would ask him a question. The kitchen was great. Had lots of spices and things like that. Having a washer/dryer is always nice. We had a place to park in the back that we only used when we couldn't find a place out front but as long as we parked our cars during the day if there wasn't any problem with finding spaces. And then if we went out at night and couldn't find a place, we always had our place outback. Was really nice that there were no surprises and things were exactly as advertised. We really had a wonderful time and are hoping to come back again.

Outstanding Home

Everything about this house is wonderful. So clean and comfortable. Perfect amount for space for everyone. Very well cared for property. We love the walk ability to the beach, shops and restaurants. The owner is very friendly and professional. So easy to communicate with. We look forward to staying here again.

Cute bungalow close to beach

We enjoyed our stay for family vacation with the kids! Ocean beach is just a few blocks away and we were able to walk to local coffee shops and eateries. My boys LOVED having their own “apartment” in the detached room - very unique touch for a family that frequents rental homes. Everything was very clean, functioning, and we appreciated not having to bring beach towels or staple toiletries as those were well stocked. VERY close to Sea World if that’s a destination on your list (6 min), San Diego Zoo (12 min), Legoland (30 min). Be prepared to park street side which can be challenging or coming back to the later afternoon/early evening.

Perfect Place to Stay in San Diego

The property was just as advertised. It was super clean and had a lot of great amenities. It was located near the beach and other local shops and restaurants but was still quiet and relaxing. Gabe is an awesome host.

Great location and amenities, well thought out home

Our stay in Gabe's home was great. The location was perfect for all that we wanted to do, including going to the beach with young kids. It's cozy but the layout is well thought out with everything you need, such as medicine cabinets to improve storage, the murphy bed in the MIL suite outback, shelves and storage in the rooms and the bathrooms, extra places to hang towels. We liked that it was on both bus lines, and we planned our vacation so that we only needed to rent a car for half of the time. If you needed to, you could take the bus to the airport also (get the Pronto app!). We did have a hiccup (getting locked out of the back MIL suite), but Gabe was super responsive and got us back in quickly. Things to note: the room with the king size bed is the only one that could fit the pack n play, so the kids got that room, and the parents stayed in the queen bedroom (which had more clothing storage anyways). The queen room also has a bathroom/shower attached so it worked out better for parents anyways!

Cute Bungalow

Six old friends from high school (mostly) spent six nights at this property and had a wonderful time. Most amazing - three very private bedrooms in a place that is not that big. But it's been very well remodeled, new kitchen, new windows (noise blocking), nice bathrooms, a small but comfortable living/dining area. The kitchen was well equipped. A lovely place to sit in the front yard as well. And although we were concerned about parking going in, we never had a problem. It is on the flight path to the San Diego Airport, but inside you really don't notice the sounds, and outside - well, be glad it's San Diego, not really that many flights. We sat outside a lot and just paused our conversations when a plane came over. Other than that, the place was perfect and located close to everything in San Diego and around. Highly recommended.

Amazing property in a great location

I cannot say enough how amazing this property is and the location in such a chill and relaxing neighborhood of San Diego. We were three adults and two kids in the house and we felt comfortable and relaxed at all times. Great amenities, and Gabe was really responsible. Absolutely a must see property in San Diego

Great spot for local color

Great bungalow located in central OB. Truly 3 blks from beach and walking to unique, local dining & drinks. College boys loved the detached ‘apartment’! Nice to have beach chairs & had weather been good we would have used the boards. Gabe’s responsiveness & willingness to accommodate early check-in & car rental was outstanding. Had trouble with Turo app or would have left a 5 star! Overall, Gabe was a 6 star host! Reminder, it is OB, so most of area is under flight path from 6am to midnight. I’m ready to go back…check out The Joint, Mikes Tacos & OB Surf Lodge brunch (pancakes melt!). Also hit sunset at the Cliffs!

The host made my first VRBO experience fantastic!

The property was perfect for the five of us traveling on a family girls trip. We had a very comfortable house, and then a tiny house in the backyard to accommodate all of us. Our host, Gabe, responded quickly and happily to all of our questions. This was my first VRBO experience, and I could not have asked for a better host! I would definitely come back to this property, and would not hesitate to rent again from Gabe.

Thanksgiving week in Ocean Beach

Great location for beach and restaurants/shops. Easy drive to other parts of San Diego for further exploration than Ocean Beach. House was equipped with all essentials and kitchen goods. Added bonus for some beach toys, boards and trolley. The back in law unit worked well for an office set up for the week. Garden space was great for some fall sun and outdoor play with our small kids. Super safe as fenced front and back. Gabe was around to help with initial check in needs and anything else throughout the week.

Loved our stay at your beach cottage!

This beach cottage was perfect for our family of 5 with plenty of room and privacy for parents and 3 teens to spread out. Gabe was super communicative and responded quickly and fully to all inquiries. The location was just what we were looking for close to the beach and loved having the extra beach amenities to enjoy. Sunset viewing and swimming/surfing was superb followed by yummy tacos and burritos at Mike's Tacos in downtown OB. All within walking distance! Would definitely consider staying again if we can make it back out to San Diego!

Wonderful property close to the beach. Gabe is an excellent host and was very attentive and responsive during our stay. The separate backyard casita was perfect for our extended family trip as we could put the little kids to bed early in that space but still be able to hang out in the main house with my sister an her family. Excellent experience overall!

Cozy, comfortable, and close to beach

The place was charming and comfortable. Adorable little front yard we liked to sit in and we used the grill in the backyard for a barbecue. Walking distance to the beach and there was beach gear (including a surfboard) in one of the closets. There was, however, a shortage of toilet paper so we had to go purchase some. Also, we could've used more pans to cook with in the kitchen. There were only a couple of kind of odd pans so we had to compromise. The only other complaint we have is that there was no a/c in the bedroom with the king bed, so it got a little warm. We bought a small fan and slept with the window open and that took care of that. The separate casita was perfect for my mom and sister to stay in. Very cool in there, had it's own refrigerator and sink, a bathroom...everything you could really need, besides its own coffee maker but there's one in the main house so that was fine. The living room had a huge TV and was very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and just the right size. Kitchen was a little small, more like a galley, but nice. Overall it was a great place to stay and we would definitely do it again. Highly recommend, with just a few simple tweaks (some more pans, more t.p. on deck, and more airflow in the one bedroom). Two thumbs up!
