Great place to stay for a few nights while visiting San Diego. The home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Nice bonus to have beach towels and chairs and nice surprise for the kids that the garage had some basketballs to use on the court on the beach. Kitchen is adequate for a short stay. Parking is right in front of the house so that is very easy, although could get tight if guests are staying in the house underneath this one. If you are choosing between the bottom floor and this unit I would recommend the top floor because of the views.

Sweet stay on the beach

We really loved the house and location. The one thing that would make it better is direct access to the beach. We had to walk around to the public point since we stayed on the top.

Awesome stay

Perfect beach house in an awesome location. Mission Beach is close to everything! Sitting on the deck, there's so much to see…..the ocean, the bay, the volleyball games, and people enjoying the beach & the outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed the house & the location.

Relaxing and fun!

My family loved our stay here! Location was great for us! Beds were comfortable and the vibes were great! Closet space for all our clothes for our stay was great. The shower was awesome the water pressure was divine! The kitchen dishes and silverware were all clean and nice. We loved it!

Great location and stay

It was lovely being right on the beach, one note is that you have to walk to a public access point to access the beach. The noise from the airport traffic was a lot, not something they can control but you should be aware. Would have loved coffee and coffee filters, something small as a Perk but it is nice when this is an amenity.

Family Beach Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The views and location were amazing. We enjoyed the access to the beach and Mission Beach area. Our kids enjoyed all the sand toys and playing in the sand. We enjoyed beach runs and short drives to restaurants nearby. There is a parking lot close by for the beach park where cars were playing loud music one night just so you’re aware.

Location is awesome

The location of this property is by far the best part. We loved being on Mission Beach, and the proximity to the beach is excellent. The beds are also very comfortable - another plus. The neighborhood also felt very safe, which we appreciated having our 3 year old with us. There were a few issues/complaints that will keep us from coming back to this unit. (1) it's very noisy - the airplanes fly overhead seemingly all day and night, and a few beach parties on weekends kept us up. (2) the unit needs a lot of TLC - this, combined with an overall lack of cleanliness, needs improvement. Supplies were limited only two rolls of TP for 8 night stay (the very thin cheap kind) and 2 small rolls of paper towel. The location is nice but the home needs a lot of TLC.

Good

Cute little house with a great view but needs a good clean and some TLC. We were excited for this place based on the photos and location. It seemed great at first but then we slowly started noticing the mold in the shower, the decayed baseboards, water damage on the ceiling in the kitchen, orange water (?) spots on the bathroom ceiling, and the stains on the towels, bedding and extra blankets (definitely needed as it gets chilly at night which another guests mentioned in a prior review). At one point, this house may have been in a great shape but doesn’t seem to be well maintained. The location was ok but being next to a public area, parties continued well after midnight and we also got woken up on our last night at 3am to someone doing donuts in the parking lot. Overall, our stay was brief and adequate but definitely not a returning visitor.

perfect location

this was an excellent place to relax and enjoy the beach. We ate outside on the deck most of the time. Short walk to morning coffee It was fun watching beach volleyball.

Great Location

This property is near the southern most part of mission beach, in what I would describe as the locals part of it. Great views from the property, easy access to the beach or bay, plenty of food/drink/markets in walking distance. The unit is showing it's age and could use some love. And the kitchen knives desperately need to be sharpened! Other than that, we had a great stay and can't wait to come back.

Super fun

We were super happy with our stay. While we expected company to use the second bedroom, it turned out just me and my husband. The bed was very comfortable. The house was nicely clean and while it is an older building and very minor signs inside it absolutely does not take away from the excellent location and quality of the home. We hope to come back next time with our grade school grandchildren to share that Second bedroom. Absolutely loved our stay.

Mission Beach

Good location. Space has been updated but still needs a little love. Paint peeling off interior doors. Shower could use a nook for toiletries instead of placing on floor. Full coffee pot vs offering k-cup brew. Deck is large with a nice table but large, empty storage bin took up space that could've been used for lounge chairs. Appreciated the air conditioning and no issues checking in.

San Diego Spring Break

Had a great, relaxing time! Great location. Great to be on the beach, having access to the Mission Beach Boardwalk. My wife and I rollerbladed for the first time, in years. GREAT central location to all the local activities. We did have a rental car.

No heat, questionable electric and lack of communication.

Do not rent during the winter season. There is no heat in the unit. We were provided space heaters as our only source of heat. The electric wiring and breakers could not support the space heaters provided. Warmest temp we saw in the unit was 59 degrees. Reset breakers nearly a dozen times and we ended up without hot water. Request for phone call to discuss remedy was never responded to. Requesting refund. The worst VRBO experience I have had after enjoying several other VRBO stays in other locations. VRBO customer service and host were not responsive and have been incredibly disappointing.

A perfect getaway

Our trip at this location was terrific from start to finish. You just can’t beat the location—20 minutes or less to airport, about 15 minutes to the zoo, 40-45 minutes to the Safari Park, walking distance to Belmont Park and a nice playground, and the beach at your doorstep. There are lots of great and family-friendly restaurants nearby to walk or drive to, and delivery is easy. The parking is perfect—you get an assigned spot at the door that is big enough for a large-ish SUV, a rarity in the area. The house itself is the perfect size for a family of 4. All of the beds were very comfortable, and the bedding was cozy for snuggling down and watching one of the 2 huge TVs or reading a book. The deck is large and has great views of the Pacific and the waterway between the ocean and the bay. You can also watch volleyball games taking place nearby on the public courts. There is a great boardwalk for morning walks up to Belmont Park or Starbucks for a cup of fancy coffee. Beach toys and towels are provided. My only suggestion would be some additional seating in the living area. We solved the problem by bringing out the chair from the master bedroom. There is only room for three to sit together inside for family meals, but in warm weather, the deck table has plenty of seating for meals. We also used the grill, which was great for easy cleanup. Management was super-responsive, and the check-in and check-out couldn’t be easier. They even reached out by email just after our arrival to see if there was anything we needed. I highly recommend it!

No heat and inadequate response

Low was around 40 degrees first night we checked in, called BEFORE the office closed, NO response. Called emergency number, who said they would bring out heaters THE NEXT DAY. So cold the first night we were miserable.

A wonderful quiet beach getaway

We were looking for a quiet comfortable place to spend a few days watching the ocean. It was perfect. A very nice location with a guaranteed parking spot, made exploring the town a breeze. The condo was very comfortable, we enjoyed our time and would rent again.
