Steer clear
This hotel simply does not meet five star standards. It is run down and the staff are far from offering five star service.
First off, the check in took a long time. We were told to wait in our room for the ‘spa kits’ which never came. We eventually came back down to the reception to collect them ourselves.
The paint in the room and common areas is peeling in areas.
The spa area also has a run down feel to it, not to mention the appetising rotten fruit… (see photo) The relaxing areas are not the least bit attractive with stains on the chaise longues and a gloomy feeling.
At check in we were told that we could opt for half board if we wanted and this was an option we could think about. When we went to dinner, we informed the waiter (he appeared to be the head waiter) of our desire to opt for this. His answer was that this simply wasn’t possible…. I’m not sure I understand what the issue was. If we had needed to inform the reception first I’m sure he could have made a call to them indicating our room number and getting this resolved, but no. His attitude was not what is expected in a five star hotel lacking professionalism and desire to make the stay as pleasant as possible for the customer.
I would recommend to steer clear of this hotel. It looks nothing like the photos.
