Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.



    Unit #245S Features: 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit in the Orange Building. Includes views of both the pool and Gulf of Mexico from your private lanai.

Amazing location

Absolutely love the heated pool, enclosed porch and access to the beach. The staff was great to work with and the unit was clean and had everything we needed.

Beach was clean and not busy with the pool close by. We have stayed here 2 years in a row and will definitely be going back next year. The landscaping was being redone during our stay from the hurricane damage, and we can’t wait see it finished!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Silver Sands with family, and the condo was really nice. It was great having 2 separate rooms with privacy, as well as 2 separate bathrooms. The scorned in lanai offered a nice place to hang dry clothes and swimsuits, they offer grills, and beach umbrellas, and sand toys. We had no competition for the beach! It was an amazing stay. Our only recommendation would be to have pack n plays or cribs available for Littles. Especially if you have an extended stay. Overall just can't say enough great things, very clean, well kept grounds and clean pool. Would recommend for sure, we will return! You want to choose a condo that faces the pool and ocean!

This place has an old Florida vibe. It was a great place to enjoy a weekend with friends. The condo had everything we needed and easy walk to the beach. We saw some beautiful sunsets.

They have umbrellas, some beach toys and chairs that are community use. Beach is steps away and not very crowded. Sand is perfectly soft and water crystal clear. Pool is nice. Grills available for use. And showers after the beach. Nothing was missing. Even a cute little put put golf area. We will definitely be back.

The room also was very nice, except for a couple of issues----the dishwasher should be cleaned out regularly (the filter was very dirty), and the filter on the furnace was also in need of a change. other then those 2 things the room was great! nicely furnished and very comfortable.Margaret, in the office was very friendly, helpful, and as usual went out of her way to assist us. when we are at Silver Sands we usually spend most of our time right there. But, we have been to many of the restaurants and enjoyed them all. We've also been to St Armands Circle (Columbias is a favorite!), and we also go to Bridge Street.We've been going to Long Boat Key at least once a year for over 30 years, and to Silver Sands for probably the last 20+. We have lived in Florida for the last 12 years, but still would never give up our trips to Silvers Sands.stay 5/ condition 5/ location 5/ cleanliness 5

Nice and quiet, very well maintained, right by the pool and beach. The property manager was wonderful and most helpful. The condo stayed nice and cool, despite the hot weather, and the beds were super comfy. We also enjoyed being close to St. Armand's Key and Sarasota. It was a wonderful vacation!

The resort is very well maintained. The staff is super nice and helpful. Our room was the perfect set up for our family of 4. The big pool is great. The beach almost feels like a private beach because it is never crowded. You really can’t beat this place for a beach vacation.

Summer Break Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We wanted a vacation where we could get out of bed, and land on the beach & this met that expectation. We all had a great time, the kids loved the beach. It was nice & quiet and so relaxing.We did arrive earlier than the 4pm check in time & could not get into the room until 4pm. So my advice is don't arrive early and expect to get into the room. The room was clean, and exactly as described in the photos. The cooking pans & utensils are in need of replacement. If you have more than 4 people and book the suite with the extra room there is not a lot of sitting space in the living room. The sofa fits 2-3 people and the one chair needs a cushion replaced when you sit in it you sink.We did call the front desk to let them know the bathroom tub in the suite was not draining, and no one came to look into it or call us back which was disappointing. Also there is no one at the front office all the time so it is a hit or miss to find someone to talk to. We were also under the impression that the rooms would be made up & restocked per the confirmation/agreement. When we got there they told us that service was not available anymore. Which was disappointing. We had to go daily for new towels & toilet paper which was inconvenient to try & remember to go before 5pm when the staff leave for the day. The other bathroom shower had no pressure. The blinds kept falling down when you open & closed the sliders, and the lanai door latch was broken so we could not lock it overnight. There are some minor maintenance issues that really should be looked into.We usually stay in resorts and wanted to try something different with the kids. Perhaps we had different expectations with the staffing onsite & services. Hopefully they resolve these issues.

The only improvement, I would recommend would be a ice machine. It would be nice to be able to fill cooler with ice and drinks and head to beach, instead of having to go to Publix or convenient store for ice.

Reviewer Comments: this is about our12th year at silver sands. this year it seemed to have been refreshed.. the grounds looked well kept and building painted. the rental was well furnished, except for kitchen. it only had 4 forks for a 6 person rental. it needed brighter light in kitchen and a light over the sink otherwise i'd rent it again.

Not again!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third time we have stayed at Silver Sands. I wish I could say it was the first year we have had issues. This year we arrived to a closed pool with no notification. It was closed for half of our trip which was a real disappointment. After making a stink, management finally gave us 15% back but it didn’t quite feel like enough given the situation. We love this area, and the resort, but unfortunately it’s poorly managed.

This was our first time renting room 245S. Upon entering the room smelled terribly Of must/mildew. There were broken/missing slats on patio blinds. There was a big brown stain on the couch. Shower door handle was broken and someone almost fell when they held onto it. We called the front desk to get these issues resolved which they did promptly. However the musty mildewy smell remainEd as well as stain on couch making our stay in room 245 not a good one. Customers should not have to walk into a room like that. Very Disappointed in Silver Sands and we will have to seriously rethink ever staying there again. Beach and pool were nice.
