Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

We did not care for the beds at all. They were really hard/firm. Great location! Host was very responsive. All in all, we were happy with the place.

Great little getaway

We took a quick 4 night trip. Great location. Beach was wonderful and not packed. Room was nice. Definitely will go back.

The property was very nice. Gulf facing with heated pool! The unit on the other hand was very disappointing. Picture of unit is deceptive. Furniture is horrendous, tired, stained, not as pictured. Would recommend the property, NOT that unit.

Rooms were slightly dated, stained, no hot water in one sink, did not like having to strip beds. Never asked to do this before. Other than that, cleaned as much as possible. Location was fantastic, weather did not cooperate but still beautiful.

At the time of our visit, the pool was not available making this expensive vacation very disappointing. I called RVA to let them know, but never received a call or email back.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was disappointed with the condo. I normally stay at another property but due to availability I had to try another this summer. I will not be back to this property. The cleanliness was not good. Behind the couch was food and dust. Same behind the beds. There was dust all over the walls in the kitchen. Rust on the refrigerator. The ice maker didn’t work. The couch and chair were so dirty I went a bought a cover up at Walmart before I would sit on them. The cleaning people didn’t speak English so when I went to exchange towels they came across as rude. The chairs were broken at the beach. No umbrellas. The lighting around the property was not good so going out at night was scary. Overall, I will not stay at this property again. They spent more time cleaning the outside than the inside of the property. Also, they had to close the pool one day because no one was checking it until it was too late. I own a pool at my home so I know this could have been avoided.

As always the property was clean and well taken care of by the excellent staff. The view was excellent! The porch facing the sea was large and accommodated 4 people for sunset watching. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pool was closed for half of our stay for spring break and we were not notified of this until we showed up. The management would never call us back or address the problem personally. At the end of our stay we did have a credit on our bill but it wasn't near enough for half of our stay and the lack of care and concern was underwhelming.

Our stay at Silver Sands

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Silver Sands multiple times for nearly 10 years. As a family of six (4 kids) it has always been accommodating, however not this visit. Although on the website it said our room would sleep six people, it did not have a pullout double couch but a futon that only slept one. When this was brought up to the manager, Clint, he was impolite, unprofessional and passive aggressive, saying that despite the false advertisement that the room slept 6 but did not nothing could be done to refund us a portion of what we paid. Clint insisted that it did sleep six and that all similar units had been changed to futons in Sept with no complaints. However we stayed in a unit in the previous June that indeed did have a pullout double couch and that unit did sleep 6. Not enough chairs on the beach for hotel guests. Many were broken. No monitoring of hotel guests cars in the parking lot. Many people were parking at the hotel and using the pool and beach, making parking difficult for actual guests.
