Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Great location and very clean!

Easy access to the beach. Entire facility was clean and well taken care of. Location was great for a quiet getaway. Loved that it was away from the packed beaches but a short and easy drive to St. Armond’s Circle one way and Bradenton Beach the other way. Staff was very friendly!

Excellent customer service from the front desk.

Would definitely stay again. Planning to return with additional family. Very clean and the grounds were kept immaculate. Definitely a great place to stay. The pool and the area around it was very well kept. Can’t say enough. Very happy with the stay.

The overall stay was fine. The beach and pool area were exactly as promised. The room had several issues that did take away from the overall experience. The largest issue was the bed. It was very uncomfortable and hard. The air conditioning worked but the humidity was very high in the rooms. The main living area was very cramped and the couch was also uncomfortable to sit on (springs could be felt).

The unit is nice. The beach and pool are fabulous! The bed is comfortable and the unit is quiet. The lady in the office is really great. No complaints or issues.

30th Anniversary

Overall our trip was amazing. Saw dolphins and manatees each day. Weather was amazing. Unit was fine for our quick two night stay. Garbage was left in kitchen and had knats all in it. That wasnt pleasant but didnt ruin anything and property manager was very apologetic and offered to buy us breakfast.

Wild Sands 252

The property is older but the location on the second floor with a tremendous view of the pool and Gulf makes this unique. The unit could use some updating with a newer couch and the basket chairs are a bit hard to get up from. Again, the view overcomes any shortfalls. Also,Margaret the Manager was marvelous.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had multiple days of construction noise, but we understand the hurricanes have hit things hard in this area. It wasn't enjoyable how often and early the workers were on-site, including on Saturday. There were also multiple worker arguments we could hear throughout the days. We did enjoy the place and would return once construction is completed.

Nice condo that overlooks the pool, and beyond, the Gulf.

Great condo, 2nd floor unit. We were there for the weekend to attend a wedding and this unit was fine for what we needed. The balcony is screened, overlooking the pool and the Gulf, which is only a few steps away. We had a problem with a slow shower drain, and let the property manager (who was very friendly) know when we checked out.

Holiday vacation

It’s the first time we stayed in this unit, we’ve stayed at SS many many times, great place. It reads 4 can sleep in the unit but it will accommodate only 3 people. It has a king size bed and a futon -almost twin size. A couple cannot sleep in this futon. It has 2 rattan swing chairs which occupy most of the living room. I understand the ringling bros theme but a lighter color decor would be a better choice.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wife and I rented a 1 BR suite in Silver Sands Resort on Longboat Key. This is the second time we have stayed at this resort. We love the location and the proximity to the beach. My wife loves walking the beach and looking for seashells. One evening, we got to watch newly hatched sea turtles scrambling down the beach to the water. It was amazing! Room had everything we needed for a long weekend. I like to cook, so my only complaint was that the knives in the kitchen were as dull as butter knives. We will definitely be back.

Excellent Resort

This condo is in an excellent, well-run resort, on a beautiful, uncrowded beach. The view is gorgeous from the large balcony, and the bed is extremely comfortable with lovely bedding. We enjoyed the huge pool, and beautiful grounds. The ice maker didn't work, but when I inquired about an ice tray at the front office, Margaret dashed out and came back with a bag of ice for us. Wow! She was top-notch! Unfortunately, we didn't find the furniture in the unit comfortable, at all. We had to use folding camp chairs that we keep in the car.
