My husband and I stayed here with our 65lb dog as part of our baby moon and absolutely loved it. We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying in the cabins for the week, so we felt like we had the entire property to ourselves in a secluded little paradise. We only saw a few workers but we did encounter a dog off-leash who I think was one of the staff’s. It was energetic and playful, but friendly. Something to keep an eye out for if you have a dog that is aggressive.
Each morning we walked our dog on the 0.75 mile path around the vineyard and took in the views. There is a very steep hill if you take the full loop, so keep that in mind if you have any physical limitations. We loved taking advantage of the outdoor activities as well (e.g., bocce ball, cornhole). While we didn’t use the fire pit, it would be wonderful on a cool night. S’more materials are prepackaged and available for contactless purchase inside the market (which is a cute airstream-style camper right by the fire pit).
The cabin itself was beautiful. The views were amazing! We debated renting the cottage with a fenced yard for our dog, but I’m glad we didn’t. The views were better and the cabin was perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Materials were provided with recommendations for dining, hiking, activities, and rental information. The cabin is beautifully furnished. The bed was incredibly comfortable, although the second bed had some kind of waterproof mattress cover that made a lot of noise. I’d recommended removing completely. The kitchenette was all we needed - fridge, ice maker, microwave, sink, toaster. The microwave actually allows for a conventional oven setting as well, which we used this to cook pre-made lasagna from Highlands’ Mountain Fresh Grocery (a must visit) one night when we stayed in.
We also had a great time trying to find the hidden lucky cardinal figurine. So happy we spotted it on our second to last day! A sweet sentiment.
The vineyard is in a perfect location! It’s a great place to feel private in the mountains, but only a 20min drive to Clayton or Highlands for shops, restaurants, and hiking.
Overall, we loved this property. We’ve recommended it to several people for when they stay in the area. Would love to come back again soon!
