“The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was in the property forecourt. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The only issue was finding somewhere to dine. The local hotel could not accommodate us on the two occasions that we tried. The nearest was either Northern Sands or Castletown hotel both of which were a number of miles away.”

“We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a day trip to nearby Oban, which should not be missed, particularly for the seafood and Oban Distillery tour. “Lovely, spacious rooms and delightful staff. Dinner menu was fantastic and we took up the offer for packed lunches (sandwich, yoghurt, crisps and delicious rocky road) for our continuing NC500 journey which were excellent and very inexpensive. Loved the laid back atmosphere, we felt comfortable and at home. Definitely recommend! ”
